There seems to be a bunch of bands that will be releasing new albums this spring. As I continue to expand my musical horizons, I'm wondering what albums you are most looking forward to?

I'll start:

Snow Patrol
Their first album, Songs for Polar Bears, was very "meh." Their sophomore release, Final Straw is one of my favorite albums from the last five years. Chocolate, Run, and Grazed Knees might be one of the better three song groupings that I've heard in a while. I'm hoping that the new album, Eyes Open, continues upon the success of Final Straw (do they have another song like Run in them), rather than slide back to their first album.

Muse
They just finished their forth studio album which is set to be released on July 3rd. This bang has gotten better and better with each album. Showbiz was a good first album, with Muscle Memory, Unintended, and Cave being my favorite songs. Origin of Symmetry was an amazing follow-up, with the first six tracks being single-worthy. Absolution is Muse's opus with Butterflies & Hurricanes being one of my favorite songs. They have alot to build on, but their history indicates they will only get better.

Radiohead
What needs to be said here? They, supposedly, have finished the, yet untitled, album and it will be available late this spring. They will begin touring this summer with 10 new songs. Looks like this album will be going in a "different direction."

The Postal Service
No plans to regroup...too bad, Give Up is another one of my favorite albums from the last five years.

The new Metallica album, later this year, hopefully they will be back to their old days and do better the load- St. anger era, which wasn't bad, but it wasn't their best.

+1 on the new Muse album!

I am still waiting for Dido's 3rd album, due 2007.

I am also hoping that KT Tunstall gets around to making a second album rather than just slagging off Dido (who has better lyrics and a better voice) and doing jack s**t.

I don't know of any announced releases that I am awaiting though.

Paul Oakenfold is coming out this week with "A Lively Mind", but considering the declining quality of his work, I don't think I am interested.

Heard today that AC/DC is about to release a new one. Best band I ever saw live, no contest.

With so many musicians here on arfcom, I'd eagerly await a homegrown album release. I love hearing unsigned bands.

Get to work guys! GD is full of material for an album.

Dramagods: Love

Nuno Bettencourt's new band. The CD is out in Japan, I think, but they're trying to get a label in the US and Europe. Some songs and videos up at the link above. Some good rock with some funkiness mixed in.

ETA

Lacuna Coil's new CD is out as of last week, I think. Karmacode. I picked it up this weekend, but haven't listened to it much. Sounds pretty good from what I've listened to so far.

Still waiting on Chinese Democracy..... didn't they say patience is a virtue and you lost your virtues long ago, after that song about just a little patience?
