Here is a prime example of why you need to educate your children about at least the basics of how cars operate:

At least they won't be humiliated on the radio.

(But everyone else can laugh their asses off! )

LOL. Back in the stone age (when I was in high school), boys took at least a few "shop" classes of some sort and the girls had to at least try to learn how to cook.

A local radio morning crew called a woman at work about her car she had taken in for basic service.  They then managed to convince her that her car needed about $2500 worth of total BS work.  It's hilarious.

"Yeah, we're not sure what happened, but your transmission is gone.  I don't know if another mechanic forgot to re-install it or what, but it's just flat-out gone."
"Don't you need that?"
"Well, it helps gas mileage."
"Ohhh. Right."
"With this kind of car, you should really have two of them."

I had to stop right after the transmission part If this is real it's not funny...My 7-year-old daughter could call BS on this stuff.

But I did laugh

Shop classes aren't weighted so if you want a higher class rank in HS, you can't take shop. I wish I took shop but I picked it up myself in my own garage, and I was valedictorian in HS anyhow.

$2440 for a service appointment sounds about right, that's how they screw you over.

Q95.5 is a SE MI radio station (Mojo in the morning) I picked up that it was SE MI when the guy mentioned the Southfield highway.

After Googling, it looks like Q95.5 is in Detriot.

Extra shame points for not knowing cars in Detroit of all places.

Read what I wrote above.
It's a rap station for what it is worth. The girl sounds cute though.

It's a gag and it's funny to a degree -

BUT, the number people that get ripped of by auto and electronic repair companies is really sad.
Taking advantage of peoples ignorance is no different than stealing money out of their wallet.

I once overheard a converstion in class about a girl who though when her oil light went on it was time to get a oil change.

My car DOES have left and right tires, and front & rear.

Otherwise, pretty funny

Yep, directional tires with different sizes for the front and rear, totally valid.
Some mufflers do have bearings... but they're bearing surfaces for the flaps inside the mufflers.

Exhaust rotator cuffs, OTOH, are BS.

100% true story here:

when i was in high school there was a couple girls that ran with our crew. on night, one looked me dead in the eyes and asked with a straight face (about her 87 chevy blazer):

"...is the engine in the front, or the back?"
