Quick poll.

Intersested as to what the rest of the country is issued.

Link Posted: 8/24/2005 3:32:13 PM EDT
4th row second one from the left.
Link Posted: 8/24/2005 3:50:11 PM EDT
Similar to the TX DPS badge, a 5-pt star in a circle.
Link Posted: 8/24/2005 4:18:19 PM EDT
Standard Blackingtons shield. I hate cookie cutter badges.
Link Posted: 8/24/2005 4:19:26 PM EDT
Right now the basic "shield w/ eagle on top" (3rd row down second from the left).

But we are in the process of changing and it looks like a custom oval style is gonna be the winner.
( 98% of the dept.)

I'm pretty stoked because I designed it. If I had a clue on how to post a pic I would like to get some feedback, but alas I'm a computer retard.

I voted "other".

It's the third row first one . . . .
Link Posted: 8/24/2005 4:41:09 PM EDT
Our FD badge looks like the R.I. badge (Blackington B311, IIRC)

Out PD gets the one 3rd row 2nd from left (Oregon?)

Shield. Bottom row, second from right.

I think I figured this shit out.

Here is our new one, the vote is in a week or so but like I said about 98% of the dept. have stated they are picking this one.

I would like some honest feedback from you guys if possible. Keep in mind the coloring is a little off in this pic. It will be antique silver with antique gold.

Holy shit it worked, my first photo link....fuck i'm giddy.

Third Row, second to the right. "New Mexico..." Only ours are silver
Link Posted: 8/24/2005 8:39:48 PM EDT
7 point, Sterling Silver, w/fine engraving.
Link Posted: 8/25/2005 12:12:50 AM EDT
7 point. They tie it in with our ethical training.
Each point in the badge represents a letter in the word sheriff. Each letter stands for a value.
Link Posted: 8/25/2005 6:18:19 AM EDT
Second Row, Far Left.
Link Posted: 8/25/2005 7:40:54 AM EDT
Ours is similar to the Nevada Highway Patrol one shown. 6th row down, 3rd from the left.

CHA and CPD: 5 point star

Current agency: Shield

Here's mine...

Our Sgt, and above have a different style, as well as our specialty units.
Link Posted: 8/25/2005 8:16:50 PM EDT
Top row second from right- looks close to mine-Md State Police
Link Posted: 8/26/2005 4:58:13 AM EDT
Third row, second from right, next to the DPS badge. Standard badge is silver and gold, Sgts and above are all gold.
Link Posted: 8/26/2005 9:01:50 AM EDT
VERY similar to this, but mine is two-tone (gold on silver). I think Sgt is reversed colors and Lt and up is like the one pictured.

Link Posted: 8/26/2005 10:24:19 AM EDT

Same as mine, except mine says "Detention Officer"
Link Posted: 8/26/2005 1:05:53 PM EDT
Not sure if you'd call this a shield or other...

Link Posted: 8/26/2005 2:20:09 PM EDT
3rd row down, 2nd from the left. 5-point Star.
Link Posted: 8/26/2005 7:21:07 PM EDT
ours is the same as this one except it has the county name in the center, rank on top and name on the bottom of the circle.

Link Posted: 8/26/2005 9:40:22 PM EDT
First row third in from the left

5 point

the one nearest the bottom on the left.

Yep. check out the Line of Duty thread header photo. Mine's the one in the US photo. Looks just like Oakland, CA PD's. Our new squad design looks exactly like CHP's with silver instead of gold lettering. Can you tell our Chief's a California native?

Both Shields in Silver.
1. 3rd row, second from the right (Old School).
2. 6th row, third from the right (New School).

Same department for 23+ years. Three different badges.

I started with a shield like the one on the in third row down, second from right.

Then we went to a seven point star like the one in the second row from the bottom, second from the right.

Now we use a shield that looks like the shield in the second row from the bottom, third from the right.

Our current/old badge

wallet and creds

our hat piece is a reduced size copy of the badge

here is our new artists rendering of the redesign we are getting

Bottom row, 5th from left.

Mine's third row down, far right; however, this badge was used by my department back in the 60s & early 70s. It was referred to the 'enamel' badge.

Current issue is still round with the outline of the state of Texas inside and a 5 point star punched completely through the badge.

I classified mine as "other". It's one of the one's in your picture......hint, hint. It's the only one of its kind that I know of anyway, perhaps others can enlighten me as to the contrary, but I've yet to see its equivalent.

let me guess....bottom 3rd in from the right?

Same as his but not gold

5 pointed star with upper and lower rockers.

Our FD one is closest to the bottom right in the picture, but it is silver and red.

I think I may have worn it three times, two funerals and one fire saftey day at the school, in 5 years.
