The death rates for young Americans increased substantially from 1999 to 2014, according to a recent report in The Lancet. Much of that increase was driven by the increase in mortality of white women aged 25 to 35. On average, 25-year old white women experienced an increased death rate of 3% per year from 1999 to 2014, according to the report. Twenty-five-year-old men had an increase annual mortality increase of 1.9%.

At 63, I have seen this long slide and decline from 1964 on up. We are fucked! It a liberalism that is rampant in schools, media, and government, and will transform this once great nation to nothing we old guys can recognize. This is why God doesn't let you live that long. You'd never be able to adapt! But the young people raised in this don't know the difference and they think what's been happening is perfectly normal. It's everywhere..... I look at TV commercials and they try to show mixed couples and same sex marriages like it's all matter of fact very normal and in every other household all across America.

I'm a little suspicious of this article. I think it may be trying to mischaracterize an increase in hard core drug use by non college educated whites.

Edit, yeah the increased death rate is due to drug use and suicide by lower educated whites. Heroin has gone from unusual to almost marijuana like common use in that age and Education group, along with meth and other drugs coming on the scene. White guilt has no more to do with it than when blacks were blaming the crack epidemic on whitey.

I've read a LOT about how younger white generation (after millennials) is extremely conservative because that was the natural way to lean if you were a rebel (in our modern PC/SJW type culture that these poor kids are being raised in).

These kids grew up with YouTube from the time they could waddle around and they are very aware of the bias on social media.

This is why the left has historically been soo pro immigration and why it's gotten so much worse in recent times. They need fresh votes at any cost and that's why voter ID laws were challenged (and violated) so frequently. Anybody who wouldn't automatically vote R was allowed in (so pretty much everyone but Cubans and white South Africans).

That is EXACTLY why the left is hell bent on promoting and encouraging illegal immigration and creating as many "sanctuary cities" as possible.

If they can turn places like Texas solidly blue, for example, by importing and then recruiting millions of new members into the "gimme my free shit" army and addicting them to welfare programs, and then (of course) allowing them to vote with no I.D. or proof of legitimate citizenship requirement whatsoever, they will have won the political battle for all time to come.

Of course, in the end, all the socialism will prove unsustainable and systemic collapse WILL result, but they don't care about that.

Their GOAL is to bring about an "emergency" situation in which they can finally overturn the last remnants of the Constitutional Republic and usher in the new Marxism.

They WANT collapse to happen - and the sooner the better.

There is definitely an opiate epidemic....To be fair though I don't think Obama did black people any favors. All he did for them is turn them into perpetual victims with no responsibility for themselves.

In general I think the problem with the country is that in general we have been looking for anyone to blame for our problems other than ourselves. Prime example is California 30 years ago was a pretty conservative state, with the influx of illegal aliens and mass immigration of 3 rd world people who have no idea how to live in a free country and the state went total liberal shithole.

What about the factor that we're fatter and lazy which makes kids depressed which makes them commit suicide or turn to drugs? Seems pretty simple to me. When I was a kid, drunk driving without a seat belt or drowning while drunk was common. Very few killed themselves. We were too busy doing stuff to be depressed. We worked our asses off and were never bored. I think the race component here is to sound provocative and get people to read the article.

but my sister's gaggle of millennials are all doing fine. Course they went to college ( although one has detoured into the trades and odd ski bum jobs) and don't do opiates. One of my nephews I held as a baby after my law school graduation probably makes 3-4x what I do. We're even onto the next generation and my sister is a granny.

A death rate increase of 3% per year is a horrific.

My guess is the instead of having families many young people buy into the progressive lifestyle brainwashing and end up drinking/drugging themselves to death in meaningless liberal existence.

Also, the rampant affirmative action during the past 20 years certainly took the wind out of many peoples sails. Besides robbing actual deserved oportunities from individuals , affirmative action tends to make society as a whole stagnant and uninspired.

A large part of them were raised wrong. They were given too much by their parents and didn't have to work for what they got and didn't want to work for it once they left home - if they left home.

I keep seeing this crap about not being able to find jobs (hear it all the time when I go visit family in WV) and how that's driving the drug problems HELL!! Get off your ass and go in the military for a few years. Get some good training and figure out if you like it or not (I didn't, I got out after 4 years and went to college, got a couple BS degrees and got a job I just retired from a couple years ago). Stay if you like the military or get out and use that money they offer to go to college and get a different "skill".

Drinking, smoking, drugs and complaining while you set on your ass never contributes to a bright future or a long life.

Affirmative action and diversity programs are very thinly veiled Marxist assaults on society. The same is true of the liberal demonization of procreation and traditional families.

The left even subsidizes single minority welfare momma to have more fatherless babies.

The truth is that it is much difficult for young working families to afford their own house, car, childcare, etc. than it was 50 years ago.

Either both parents have to work or a single earner has to make well above average to keep their kids out of poverty.

It's been going on for quite a while now. I know a man who tested for a State Police job somewhere in New England 20+ years ago, who was told that he was the best qualified candidate, but was passed over due to hiring quotas for minority applicants.

He applied in another state and was told the same thing would happen right off the bat. He wound up doing specialized security work and did OK, but he really wanted to be a state trooper.

Perhaps White people need sanctuary cities better yet States.

Imagine if there were States where there were no government welfare programs and people were personally responsible for themselves. Where there was no political correctness, no affirmative action programs, no mandated diversity measures, no special treatment because of your skin pigmentation, gender or sexual orientation. Where everyone doesn't win and success is lauded instead of shunned for equality sake. Where you are never made to feel guilty for being the best you can be.
