From the two kits I have used I would buy again.  Shipped fast and very well organized.  Fit and finish was better than expected for the cost.  For my buddy's first AR i built him and mine that stays in my car, they are perfect.

Their plastic flip up sights I could do without.  Cheap and cheap.  I put an optic onto the gun pretty quick-like.

I didn't know until recently they sell 80% lowers as well.

Neat. looks like NOTHING is assembled in that kit. Not even the forward assist or dust cover.

Want one sooooo bad!!!

I've bought some parts from them.  Their buffer tubes, buffers, springs are good.  Got a couple enhanced LPKs, too.  Everything fit, though the tolerances aren't quite as good as other kits.  The enhanced take down and pivot pins needed a little filing near the holes where the detent tip rides.  Had to actually cut a couple turns off the take down spring, was putting too much pressure on the detent to be able to open it up without tapping on the pin with a plastic hammer.

I mean, the stuff works, but it's not top quality.

Meh, I brought this one in for a total cost of $397.10 yesterday.....Including the mag and a billet lower, no keymod abomination either.

I'm not in the market for anything right now, but I'd take a chance on this if I was. I do like how they spell out exactly what materials were used.

Centerfire Systems has a $299.00 AR kit with everything but the lower in their current catalog as well.  16" barrel with your choice of 1:7 or 1:8 twist rate.

The ambi charging handle upgrade is decently priced, but I wonder if you can get the blank one with the latch on the correct side?

You can't ping all sites. My work website I know blocks pings from any address so will return the same response.

I have two.  They're great for lightweight builds but not as strong as aluminum lowers.  I think a few people have experienced some tolerance issues, but I haven't.  Don't butt stroke someone with one.  I like the fairly significant weight reduction.

An Anderson lower will be stronger and almost as cheap.

How does magnesium compare to aluminum and polymer?

We all know the aluminum lowers > polymer.

I won't use polymer but I use Magnesium.  It isn't as strong as Aluminum though.  Some have been broken but I believe the breaks were due to manufacturing flaws.

I had one. Really weak coating (it would chip / scratch if you looked at it the wrong way). As noted, they will break if you try to buttstoke or baton with it. It was very light, though. As a cheap range gun, it should be fine. But I would not trust it as much more than that.

This is getting ridiculous.

I would love to have a barebones AR for the prices they have been lately.

Thanks a lot NY.

Edit: but then again for 400 bucks.....and I have some Anderson stripped lowers laying around....

We're living in the age of rock bottom AR pricing. With mid $400 complete ARs for sale at gun stores, this kit is priced accordingly to the current market, so I don't really see the need to buy a no name parts kit.

Jeez, nitpick much? Since everything else is spelled out as to material composition I chose to take them at their word when they described the upper as "milspec." Also, the gas block is listed on their website as steel.
Link Posted: 3/23/2017 6:29:09 PM EDT
Got mine today. Can't complain about price but it looks like it uses PTAC components.

1. gas port in the barrel was partially obstructed with a burr
2. visible end the the rail looks like it was cut with a hacksaw
3. pistol grip seams were not smooth (lots of excess material I had to remove from the holding process)
4. trigger obviously need to be cleaned up / polished
5. feed ramps are slightly off

Overall, this looks like a mass produced Chinese kit. The machining is quite sloppy. Guess we'll have to see how it fires. I'm not upset based on the price and pretty much expected this level of quality. That being said, I'll stick to PSA Freedom for cheap builds.
