So this nwe boss is here and thinks he is all that (but everyone says he doesnt know shit) So now we are getting biometric entry points to the network/server rooms and basically we are on lock down at night. Which means when I get hungry at say 1am I cant go anyplace cause I cant get back in cause the outside points well, are exit only now. This is some fucked up bullshit.... AHHHHHH!!!!!

OK, just had to vent.

So how do you get in during the day?

All the doors are exit-only? There's no access in, keycard or biometric?

Basically, someone has to be here so I can get in. Outside doors are locked down by security before I get in (7pm-7am) So basically, someone has to be here for me to get in for now anyway. This guy is a fruit or some shit.

Whose biometrics? The ones we have at our datacenter are pretty rock solid.

If you've got biometrics, why do you need somebody inside to let you in? Aren't you scanned into the system?

Outside points are exit only. The doors that are normally unlocked during the day are locked before I get to work. So I have to be "buzzed" in. They dont know wtf there doing.

Do the doors have alarms if they're left open for extended periods?

I'm just sayin...

This door right beside my office isnt alarmed yet, so it will be propped open. Eventually it will be like exit doors at resruants, when as soon as you open it, it sounds.

If it is like the ones in restaurants it is a local thing just pull the 9 volt battery out of it and continue with your life. (but you didn't hear that from me)

Oh I know, but it's still BS, and then theres the part about getting back inside if I want to step outside and stretch my legs some.

Don't get me started on lame assed security at work! I work at one of the biggest; if not the biggest, rocket manufacturing facilities in the country and our "guards" are armed with clip boards. Not even a cell phone. The grounds have a simple chainlink fence seperating us from whatever. Drive through ditches, unarmed guards, no real disaster response team within 25 miles, -0- disaster drills for guards or employees, etc. About 90% of our "guards" are overweight late middleaged women and the few men are pathetic rejects from mall duty.

I bet when they look hard enough after the anonymous tip, they will find where someone hid the kiddie porn on his work machine... theoretically.
