I would not post something like this as a joke. Look at properties for the url. The url is what I have been typing every day for the past 5 years.
Link Posted: 8/2/2005 3:38:18 PM EDT

Huh?

Looks like a normal page to me. Like mail.yahoo.com, finance.yahoo.com, news.yahoo.com...

You get a blank page with

Do you Yahoo?

in text

Here is the page source HTML

<html><head><title>do you yahoo?</title></head>
<body>
<h1>do you yahoo?</h1>
</body></html>

<!-- p33.my.dcn.yahoo.com compressed/chunked Tue Aug 2 16:32:29 PDT 2005 -->
Link Posted: 8/2/2005 3:40:21 PM EDT
I get their standard login page with a picture of a dude on the left and text and crap.

perhaps you have some spyware type issues?
Link Posted: 8/2/2005 3:40:53 PM EDT
screen shot?

or at least describe what you saw.

Yep, works just fine for me. jkstexas, I think your computer has been owned by some spyware or something.

Yup. same here.

Out of uncontrolled curiousity I clicked your link and got a regular yahoo page.

try clearing your cache, killing the browser, and loading it again.

It sounds like your browser isn't redirecting, like it's supposed to.
Link Posted: 8/2/2005 3:45:31 PM EDT
link works for me too, get a yahoo news page
Link Posted: 8/2/2005 3:45:40 PM EDT
Link Posted: 8/2/2005 3:45:50 PM EDT
No prob.
Link Posted: 8/2/2005 3:47:13 PM EDT
I checked my hosts file, and there are no spurious entries.
Link Posted: 8/2/2005 3:49:22 PM EDT
Here's a screenshot of what I get:

Link Posted: 8/2/2005 3:50:27 PM EDT
Link Posted: 8/2/2005 4:11:26 PM EDT
I have Spy Sweeper installed, and run Spybot Search and Destroy and Adaware often, so this disturbs me somewhat.

Works for me.

I don't think Yahoo is the one that was hacked.

Other servers for My Yahoo are responding correctly. I'm guessing that the p33 server is undergoing maintenance. If it were hacked, there'd be some sort of signature, of which there is not.

That is quite a relief, and it makes sense.
