All,

Sorry if this question is dumb but I don't have an hdtv and don't have the funds to get one, and was wondering if the 360 will still look good on my tv? Thanks in advance.

it looks ok, but some games use tiny text that is indecipherable without an hdtv.

No, it looks like shit.

ETA: It might not be bad if you aren't used to seeing it on an HDTV.

Well this is from someone who could give 2 shits about Hi-Def or standard as long as it is a good picture. It'll look just fine.

Looks fine on mine, but it will look a whole lot better when I get my HDTV in a few months. Keep in mind, the Red Rings of Death will always be in standard definition though.

Why buy a next gen console for old school graphics?

Oh yeah, COD 4.

How bout compared to what the original xbox looks like on my tv?

It'll look okay. How hard it is to read stuff though will depend on how big the TV is.

Looks like shit. Going from my 1080p to a standard-def at my parents house is like going from a Ferrari to a Yugo.

This, if your not use to HDTV it'll look ok. I had my PS3 before I got a HDTV was ok cause its what I was use to, for shits and giggles one day I hooked it up to my 24" LCD WS monitor, couldn't stand how it looked on my old tv after that.

It'll be on par with the original xbox looks, except any text will probably look a little blurry.

You can do VGA out on the 360, so if you have any sort of LCD monitor you should be able to hook the 360 up to it.

If you are playing single player games it shouldn't be that bad, but if you are going on live to play, keep in mind that everyone you are playing against that has an HD TV can see more of the game than you.

i play on a 20" standard def tv and i'm ranked <1000 in the world for COD WaW HC War.

I think I'll try to hook it up to my LCD monitor, thanks for all the replies, you are all a big help.

LOL for the longest time, probably around 8 months I was playing my PS3 on my little 13in TV. I felt like a loser. Metal Gear Solid 4 and COD4, man what a waste of ability. Then I got an HDTV for Christmas, 26" Vizio, man that 1080P is niiiiiiiiiice!

It will look a whole lot better than your original X-Box looks, just not as good as it should.

If you haven't played extensively on an HDTV, you won't be disappointed.
