I lucked into a XBox360 today as my 16 year old cousin prebought two and the second one arrived today.

I've bought it off him for the princely sum of $430, aka list price with tax.

I have a PS2 buy I don't play a lot of videogames, in fact I haven't used the PS2 in a year (other than as a DVD player).

But, I've seen the TV commercials for Call of Duty 2 and it looks incredible and intense.

Which leads to the question - should I keep the X-box or not?  $430 is a lot of $$$ that I could be putting towards my plasma TV which I'll be buying after the superbowl.  if I get rid of the XBox, I doubt I'll see one again until the spring.

Anyone have any thoughts as to how good the XBox is?

Keep it.

I love mine.  They are coming back into stock everywhere, so the exorbitant prices that they are going for on ebay are going to slow down very soon.

It is an outstanding machine, and a lot of good games are coming to the platform.

i have one, and played call of duty and its definatly fun, but honestly the better games are comming out in about a month or two, namly ghost recon and some zombi game/simulator, thats the main reason i got it. so if your really like games that envolve the military and resident evil type stuff keep it, keep it,

i think its worth it, but then again im a full time student with out a job so i have some extra time to spend on video games,

my sugestion would be to not open it and just try out your cousins and rent call of duty, then make the decision.

Let capitalism prevail, list it on egay with a $500 reserve, and see where it goes!

DITTO

BTW, if you plan on playing console games don't get a plasma (or do the late-models not have the old burn-in problems?)

Open it carefully, go rent a few games, play it. If  you like it keep it, if not box it back up and sell it .

Just keep it.  If you can fit a plasma tv into your budget, then you dont need to make a couple hundred off of a 360.
