"This botched gun raid, without any doubt, is about an innocent family with two children — one disabled — who were utterly terrorized and abused as a result of the grossly reckless conduct exhibited by (police)," Pineiro said.

And then, after 10 minutes, they strip search the already naked woman?

Holy shit.  I look forward to seeing this #notdefended

"Stop (expletive) crying and take care of your (expletive) kids," she claimed one officer told her.

She said a female officer later frisked her even though she was naked. Ten minutes passed before she was allowed to cover herself up, she added.

In an affidavit, Trooper Nicholas E. Nason said a confidential informant told him the suspect had been staying in the apartment. He wrote that police had successfully raided the apartment last September, finding drugs.

Records showed police had arrested the man the SWAT team was looking for, who was a previous tenant at the apartment, at a different address on Aug. 6, the newspaper reported.

Pretty much this.

thing is, this won't receive the massive attention it should get. The news media is more interested in publicizing LEO shootings killings of street thugs, single cigarette sellers, and criminals with guns, generally anyone who will not submit to lawful police orders.

23-year-old Mom schtooping her boyfriend, and running around nekkid, while her kids are in the apartment.  And the po-po bust down her door, looking for a previous boyfriend.

Sounds like the po-po busting the door down is the least of her problems.

Blaming the victim for the police that take a CI's word on where a guy sitting in jail is in only 13 posts.  That's impressive.

Confidential Informants should be illegal to use for warrants .  A whole bunch of cops and a judge need to go to jail and be personally liable in civil court.  Qualified Immunity needs to be greatly reigned in if not fully revoked.

But CIs are never used as the sole justification for warrants.

If they knew, without a doubt, they would be charged and sued out of existence it would stop.  I hope we can use the current momentum to get some big changes made.

There really is no excuse for getting it wrong. Raids like that are dangerous for everybody involved and there should not be any mistakes about crashing the wrong door.

Be prepared to be told that this isn't a wrong door search.  They hit right where they wanted, and even then it's not the team's fault.  It's probably the judge's that signed the warrant.  Everyone else is just an innocent victim here, except for the victim.

As another poster pointed out.  She was naked, and probably had sex with her boyfriend.  That's not harem, good raid!

Are the people on SWAT teams policemen or robotic door kicking machines?

The newspaper figured out the guy they were looking for had already been picked up... why couldn't the cops?

Or more importantly, why wouldn't the cops doing the door-kicking fear the outcome of getting it wrong enough to do even a cursory check for previous arrests like the newspaper did?

So, robotic door kicking machines, not people.   Got it.

I bet if they were held personally accountable for kicking the wrong doors, they would magically turn into people again.

Do they hang the pilots for dropping a bomb on a building full of civilians when they were told it wasn't containing said civilians?

I'm not even sure what you were trying to say, so I'm not sure if it's a valid analogy.

Regardless, the analogy is unnecessary in this case.   We have a pretty simple situation.    Cops with guns are serving a search warrant based on the word of a third party and on basically no investigation on their part.  Even a cursory amount of investigation probably would have averted the error.

But hey, they can't be expected to do investigation, right?   It's not their job.  They're policemen.   Not the freakin hardy boys.
