The US Olympic Team. Lots of US Service Men/Women that have made the team. The shooters from Ft Benning and the other civilian and military shooters. Men like SFC Todd Graves, Bronze medal, Shotgun, 2000 Olympics. I care about our atheletes, and I love to watch them kick ass, whenever they do. What was the little girls name that made that vault a few years ago, the one with the screwed up ankle? You gonna do that vault or get a Bronze medal in Shotgun? I care. Jackass. |

I agree with you Frank. I was pissed and insulted during the last summer Olympics. Every news channel and media source kept going on and on about crap that I find really dull. Its a pissing consest in a format that most cannot relate to. Throwing a stick, metal ball, or disc. Who cares? So we spent recources to show we are better than the rest at these things, not something I would brag about to forigners. There is alot of money for the host country and that is all. In the case of China I think the US is making a big deal cause thay always f!ck with us whenever they can. The only problem with the descision is that it legitimizes China's oppressive way of life. Aside from that, I will not be watching this crap as usual. If there was an actual international pissing match involved then I probably would cause that is something I find more interesting than who can run faster.

According to "Revenege of the Nerds", A PBS documentary ran a while back, Gates bought the DOS OS off of a small company and then licensed it to IBM with no clause to say that Gates could not sell it to other companies. He paid $50,000 for the DOS OS. IBM did not maintain esclusivity. Major mistake. He was free to sell to anyone.
With the advent of "PC Clones" and everyone jumping on IBM's coattails but with lower overhead, less corporate restriction and more innovation PC manufacture and use skyrocketed. Gates was there to sell to anyone who wanted to copy IBM. Can't blame him there. Gates made a mint but had developed nothing. Pure luck and scheming. He copied Apple's which copied Xerox's idea for GUI's and then came Windows. The DOS OS is what made Microsoft what it is today. If you can watch "Revenge of the Nerds", it is a great rundown of the PC revolution and shows the rise of both Apple and Microsoft. |

The #1 piece of Macintosh software (purchased) would probably be either Quark Xpress, Adobe Photoshop, or the like. Either something like that, or something from a company like Symantec (Norton Utilities), etc. If you care to prove me wrong (with un-biased information) I'll be glad to eat my words. I hate professional sports and can't see the point in watching a bunch of millionaires run up and down a court/field with a ball and think they are some how “Special”…
I do kind of dig the Olympics, because most of the original sports are actually [b] Martial Arts![/b] they were a way of training for WAR! I also like to watch the USA kick the shit out of these ass-wipe socialist countries…It kind of reminds them who and why we win wars and run things on our little blue ball called “Earth”….
