So, I finished my final final today, came home, and saw that a package I had ordered about a week ago was out for delivery. "Cool", I said to myself. "I'll just do stuff near the door today since it's snowing, icy, and I have nothing better to do."

I played Gran Turismo 5 and watched Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and Two and a Half Men. I did this instead of recording music because, well, I wanted to be sure the UPS guy dropped the package off.

Well, I've been down there since, I dunno, 3? Been checking the door every now and again to boot. At about 9 I figured it wasn't going to be delivered so I headed up stairs for a bit. I just now decided to check to see what the deal was with my package and it said it was delivered.

I go back down and check the door. Nope, nothing. I come back up the stairs and click on the little "PROOF OF DELIVERY" button thinking I'd see something more than "LEFT AT DOOR". Hmm. Well, it's not at my door. In fact, not even near my door. So I decide to take a walk and was going to ask my neighbors if they got a little package. I walk out the door and to my driveway and see this plastic thing on top of a nice melted pile of snow. I walked over to it, expecting it to be a bag that the wind caught and froze in place.

It was my package. At the front of the driveway by the garage door.

?

???

So, I come up and check to see when the delivery time was.

Well, here's the copy pasted bit of it.

The front door thing is a little stupid but my UPS guy stuffs my packages into all the hidden places of my porch as its very exposed. Tis the season for package snatchers. If your package was put in a place somewhat hidden and your porch is exposed then I would probably bet thats the reason.

Well, I don't think out in the open in front of my garage really classifies as hidden .

Same type of thing happened to me a few years ago. I ordered 500 rds of 7.62x39 from sportsmansguide. I left my door open, but screen door closed, so I can catch the UPS guy. Few hrs go by and no doorbell or knock. So I check my computer and showed it was delivered! I go outside and find the package hidden behind a bush next to the door.... This occured at my place outside West Philly....

WTF BROWN!

I get a nice email alert from our UPS mailbox service who signs for our packages and holds them in a secure store.  Only then do I need to go and sign for it and know it is in good shape.

No problems for three years.

Awesome!  another successfully delivered parcel.  Thats what happened right?  you received a parcel on the day you were supposed to, during normal delivery hours, while UPS is at its busiest.  GAWD UPS is teh sux.

I'm still trying to figure out why he started a thread to bitch about this.

UPS always hides my packages under my door mat... ROFL

As if someone can't notice a huge package with a door mat on top of it.

Man, I guess the American consumer is so used to being shit on these days, it confuses them when someone thinks this is not an appropriate way to deal with a customer.  Rock on fellas.

I came home looking for a package that was delivered.. looked everywhere for it.. no one had seen it. though maybe the dogs got on the porch and took it.. after an hr of looking, found it on the windshield of car parked beside the the garage on opposite side of driveway. Guess he pulled up and tossed it there instead of walking to the door. pissed me off.

Had UPS deliver an expensive LMT upper to the wrong address, and they pretty much made no effort to go and recover it.

After knocking on the guys door at different times for about 3 days he finally answered and I got my upper back.

I was a package car driver for 13 years, hated that company. The criteria for leaving a package is this, Safe, Out of Sight, Out of Weather. Lots of stories where drivers had put a small package in the BBQ grill. That stopped when folks went out and started the grill up without opening the lid. Oops!

They wanted us to try three neighbors houses to elave the package at if the original delivery addressee wasn't home and the 3 criteria couldn't be met. Uh, huh, sure. When every second of your days was timed. My favorite packages were the "Door Slammers" like Victoria's Secret and other soft plastic bag deliveries. I once delivered 27 Omaha Steak styrofoam boxes to an upscale house once. I made the front entryway look like a fucking igloo.

The stories I could tell!

Try going non-union and using FedEx. Admittedly I don't use them that much but I gotta say, last time I did, I was getting an $1800, 50 pound package, and they sent a girl who was like a 9 or 10 to deliver it. I about shit my pants and even made a thread about it here I was so shocked.
