Runs like shit on a PS3, worked great for the first couple times i played it, now it just freezes when i turn it on. I think this game still had a lot of work left. WTF ever happened to beta testing?
I rented it. If i had paid 60.00 for a newer version of GTA3 i would be pissed. They took a great series and took a huge shit in the CD case and shipped it out. |
haha yep, the ps3 version i guess sucks cock compared to the 360 version...
360 rocks, ps3 sucks cock haters eat it. gtaIV needs to be on pc tho pc > console. |
Mine runs great, played lots of SP and online. Paid $45 new from gamefly.
eta: to the above poster w/ cock on his mind: My PS3 has free online, wireless controllers, uses bluetooth mics, plays Bluray and HASN'T passed its prime... You're XBOX experience is needed over in the Wargames forums for the guys that want your advice on the fastest way to get the RROD fixed quickly... |
I wouldn't be opposed to it being on PC.
I am going to get a PS3 when they're not a trillion dollars, maybe the bugs will be worked out then. |
Worked great for 2 days, now it freezes when it tries to load my save point. |
It sold quite a few copies on launch and some problems came up. Give them a little time to get a patch released. |

Check out the GTA forum on the Playstation site, looks like more than a few. |
I haven't had any problems with my PS3 version yet. I have logged probably around 20 hours.
Same here. Enjoy the PS3 version guys. |
Just bought it for 360 tonight! Hopefully I won't encounter any problems. |
+1 I've got it sitting on my desk still in the wrapper, should I not open it? |
Same here, I didn't get a PS2 until 04. I can wait. |
Hell I just got a PS2 in '06. I can wait too...not worth paying $500 and $50 a game. Screw that. |
Fighting over which system is better never gets old it appears... Oh and GTA IV on my 360 rocks! I'm sure the PS3 version will be patched very soon if this isn't an isolated issue. |
Actually lots of gamers were complaining because the game had to be dumbed down for the XBox360... It couldn't make use of the full power/capacity of BluRay.
Sorry pc guys, the game companies want their money first, then they'll cater to y'all. And me. I'm a pc kind of guy.
I have a hard time believing the developers could have/would have had the time to put much more content with the game. They did start this one from the ground up. |
Don't let the fanboi's fool you... |
Of which system? Are you saying they could have or that the idea that Xbox not having blu-ray held the game back? |
Funny, but according to Rockstar...you know, the guys who made the damn thing...the problem occurs on both the PS3 and the 360. They are aware of it, and are working on a patch, but have no idea when it might arrive.
I've been playing every day, a few hours each day, since release. Just finished up a 7 hour seesion of the game on my PS3, and have had no problems whatsoever (knock on formica!). |
what sucks is the 1st million "missions" is driving a bunch of retards/cousins around town
Anyone else here play "chain reaction"?
Works best when you are being chased by a bunch of police cars. You try and get a large mass of cars and drive into it when your car is on fire. Then run out and see how many cars you can get to blow up in the chain reaction that occurs. I especially laugh when the ambulance comes to save the victims and drives through the inferno, becoming a victim itself. |
I read on the PS forums if you sign out of the PS Network your game will work. Tried it and was able to play.
Are they making it for PC? I hope so. I'll buy it for sure. |
I will gladly support any company that exercises their right to make whatever game they choose to and doesn't give into bullshit political pressure and threats. |
+1 Rockstar games is one of few companies that has the balls to go toe-to-toe with the Hildabeast. |
Just over at my buddy's place, his GTA IV freezes his 360 every time he turns it on. Not a happy camper.
All the Rockstar games I've played have always been buggy as hell.
My PS3 copy is fine.
I think the issue is that there's something wrong with the PS3 game servers - so if your client tries to connect to them it corrupts your game or something...I've played it with my PS3 offline the whole time and I've had absolutely no problems - so that sounds like a pretty legit reason to me. |
I have played offline and online on 360 so that's not the issue with the 360 but apparently some people are having the same issues on their 360's that the PS3 is having. |
i have had no problem it runs great on my PS3, my roomates 360 though..... sounds like at jet taking off and loads slower than the PS3 for GTA4.
+1 Working 11 hours a day, 6 days a week hasn't helped much either... ETA: I'll still probably buy a copy when the PC version is released. |
Funny how the cops on that game don't care if you run red lights, speed like hell, cut donuts in intersections, but if you bump into their car IT'S ON! Seems like they are harder to get away from now too.
I'm 50% through the single player game had one freeze up when I started the last mission for Francis. Otherwise 0 problems for me I haven't even tried online yet, been getting tons of invites but I want to finish single player mode first. Running it on a 40 gig PS3 with a 250 gig in it.
Well the radar shows where the cops who haven't seen you are I dont recall that on the previous versions I think that makes it a little bit easier to escape. It was nice when I was dating Kiki call her and she'd call the cops off but she dumped me after I had a motorcycle accident with her on one of our dates |

Dont fuck with the LCPD |
