I don't know what protocol is for GSW's but why wasn't that stitched up?

FYI, for people unaware because movies and even books don't do it justice, you don't sew up a puncture wound, you need to let it heal from the inside out. They've known this since ancient Greece/Rome. Sew a puncture and you increase the likelihood it will fester.
