Title says it all.
It depends on who else is running and the makeup of the Congress.
In the GOP primary? No.
In the general election in the unlikely event he won the GOP primary? Yes. As an independent? No. |
Amen, all three points. |
Does a bear shit in the woods? I would vote for him. |
If he hasn't treated his wife honorably, why would I believe he would deal honorably with the rest of the country? That's all. |
I think he was seperated pending devorce at the time but I don't see what that matters. |
That would entertaining if nothing else. The debates would be Pay-Per-View, moderated by Joe Rogan and held in a chain link octagon. |
Another wolf in sheeps clothing.... why is he a CFR member? Another One Worlder who has suckered America. He's as phony as Trent Lott's hair. and Mikey Jackson's face.
What about his big Contract with America? What did he and his cabal ever undo? NOTHING! FHITA! |
+1 |

I thought the whole stink was that he divorced his wife when she became very (terminally?) sick I'd vote for the architect of the republican revolution in a heartbeat. |
Nope. He uses the walking trail. Watch your step. |
[ross] "WE WERE ON A BREAK!" [/ross] |

I would never vote for Buchanen or anyone who would want Buchanen on their ticket. |
Me too. Other than that, yes. |
He's a hell of a lot better than most anybody else who looks like they might run.
If he won the nomination, absolutely. It won't happen, though. Nobody can beat O_P in '08.
Big +1 on that. He has spent a lot of time on FNC lately, as an "expert", and I have found his opinions to be very well thought out, and right on the money. I like him. I don't give a shit about his wife. They all have skeletons. |

Newt would make a great Republican president. He is clearly one of the great thinkers of our time. It is truly a shame we were deprived of his leadership in the House by the asshole Democrats that drove him away.
I would like to see Pat Buchanan as his VEEP, or Pat would be great at the top job as well. I will never forget Pat's electrifying speech at the 1992 Republican Convention. Both of these guys are bare-knuckled brawlers. Just what we need in today's world. They would not hesitate to kick some serious terrorist ass. If Newt or Pat were elected in Nov. 2008, we would have a fence protecting our Southern Border with Mexico by June 2009, if not before. Guaranteed. Take it to the bank. |
I'd vote for Newt, he has the Brains, but does he have the Balls I cannot fathom having Pat his veep who I believe is a bit looney in my book.
I think Newt Gingrich and Tom Tancredo as VP would be an unbeatable pair game, set, match.
Yeah, that covers it for me too. |
Oh, that it were so. Thirsty, how'd you like to be Director of Issuing Ammunition to the General Militia? (The General Militia is..........just about everybody. ) |

who cares, everyone makes mistakes.

Is that the case re: his terminally ill wife? I recalled there was some stink that caused him to retire but I forgot what it was. At first I thought it a positive that I forgot, therefore other people forgot, if it were some indiscretion. On the other hand, if his wife was ill, I could not condone his abandoning her. I voted, yes, tht I would vote for him, but if the case is that he abondened his ill wife that would change it. BTW, my wife has Stage IV cancer and may not be alive at the end of the year. I spend every minute taking care of her. |

I don't really like him, but yet again, he is the best of the choices we have.
I'd love to see him as president and Hillary as speaker of the house...
I know I won't get my wish but Gingrich with H. Clinton as a vice president (as another option) would be fun to watch. |
He wussed out in the '90's, and he'll wuss out in the future too. We need a true diehard constitutionalist who has a backbone. Personally I want to see Ron Paul as president. It'll never happen, 'cause he won't play "the game", but hey... he's the only one who doesn't deserve to be pissed on.
As a side note - rjroberts, I love your signature line. |
+1 on the wussing out. No one was a bigger fan then I was, but when he spread his legs for the Clintons and resigned from congress that was it. He had so much promise and blew it. |
HA, an honorable politician. Good joke. |
Honor would be a tough thing to find in a profession where it is a requirement to compromise your principals on a daily basis. |
Hell Yes!!!!
Newt and JC Watts would be a great ticket. Probably an unbeatable ticket, IMHO |
Ditto |
The Clintons probably had some "dirt" on him so he bailed . I would still vote for him if was the GOP candidate |
Let's nominate O_P! I want that job! |
