In the GOP primary?  No.
In the general election in the unlikely event he won the GOP primary?  Yes.
As an independent?  No.

That would entertaining if nothing else.  The debates would be Pay-Per-View, moderated by Joe Rogan and held in a chain link octagon.

Another wolf in sheeps clothing.... why is he a CFR member? Another One Worlder who has suckered America. He's as phony as Trent Lott's hair. and Mikey Jackson's face.

What about his big Contract with America? What did he and his cabal ever undo? NOTHING!

Big +1 on that.   He has spent a lot of time on FNC lately, as an "expert", and I have found his opinions to be very well thought out, and right on the money.   I like him.   I don't give a shit about his wife.   They all have skeletons.

Newt would make a great Republican president. He is clearly one of the great thinkers of our time. It is truly a shame we were deprived of his leadership in the House by the asshole Democrats that drove him away.

I would like to see Pat Buchanan as his VEEP, or Pat would be great at the top job as well. I will never forget Pat's electrifying speech at the 1992 Republican Convention. Both of these guys are bare-knuckled brawlers. Just what we need in today's world. They would not hesitate to kick some serious terrorist ass.

If Newt or Pat were elected in Nov. 2008, we would have a fence protecting our Southern Border with Mexico by June 2009, if not before. Guaranteed. Take it to the bank.

Is that the case re: his terminally ill wife?   I recalled there was some stink that caused him to retire but I forgot what it was.  At first I thought it a positive that I forgot, therefore other people forgot, if it were some indiscretion.  On the other hand, if his wife was ill, I could not condone his abandoning her.  I voted, yes, tht I would vote for him, but if the case is that he abondened his ill wife that would change it.   BTW, my wife has Stage IV cancer and may not be alive at the end of the year.  I spend every minute taking care of her.

He wussed out in the '90's, and he'll wuss out in the future too. We need a true diehard constitutionalist who has a backbone. Personally I want to see Ron Paul as president. It'll never happen, 'cause he won't play "the game", but hey... he's the only one who doesn't deserve to be pissed on.

As a side note - rjroberts, I love your signature line.

+1 on the wussing out.

No one was a bigger fan then I was, but when he spread his legs for the Clintons and resigned from congress that was it. He had so much promise and blew it.
