There are no dumb questions.

Only dumb people.

Might work in Loserville.

It would not be legal tender. Which means it could not be used to satisfy a debt.

Now, if the debt was in Confederate dollars, I guess it would qualify.

Makes me wish I had bought some of those Confederate bonds I saw advertised back in the 1980s. Scripophily can be an interesting hobby.

There is just as much backing behind this Confederate money as we have behind a Federal Reserve note.

Kind of scarey, isn't it?

Would be the same as paying in British Pounds, I imagine.

I'm not sure, but my grandmother gave me a bank when I was a kid, had what appeared to be a rebel officer with the words, "Save your confederate money, the south will rise again!"

There's a ton of them around and a lot (the majority) of them are fake. On average they are worth less than face value to collectors.

A US Silver Dollar from the Twenties or mid thirties with a bald eagle clutching an olive branch that says "peace."

As far as the legal status. Confederate Currency is a "debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States" and the 14th Amendment makes it worthless.

The last quote I saw on Confederate dollars was $0.0176 US.

I have a 1 mark note from 1914. It is not worth anything besides collector's value either.

I also have some canceled stock certificates.

Scripophily can be fun.

you realize that starting a thread about the confederacy is more likely to cause a shitstorm than even the Arfcockpalypse did, right?

Put the bill in your safe. It will buy more than an US $10 before long . . .
