I purchased this set of patches to put on my motorcycle vest. Then has second thoughts about the wording on the round one

I served in the USCG from 76-86, Honorably discharged as a GM1

On the round patch it says ""Our Brothers Are Never Forgotten"

Do you think as a NON Vietnam Vet, that it would be inappropriate for me to wear the round patch.

I do not want to portray myself in any way as a Vietnam Vet or insult any Vietnam Vet by wearing the patch.

No.  Motorcycle vests are never appropriate.

As long as the vest isn't the only thing you're wearing, you should be fine.

Lots of things in this thread.

No, you should never wear a leather motorcycle vest.

If you must wear one, I don't see a problem with your patches, although you really shouldn't wear a motorcycle vest.

I was not aware that the MIA/POW issue was unique to the Viet Nam era, I had this crazy notion that our nation had lost members of its fighting forces and couldn't account for them in pretty much all conflicts.

It took off with the Vietnam period, but you are correct it is not just about Vietnam.

This is the type of vest it will go on.
