Can anyone tell me if the HK UMP in Semi will be legal after the sunset? I saw semi-only versions available to LEO.

Thanks in advance -

If it had a 16 inch barrel yes, or if you get a tax stamp for an SBR.

I saw one for sale and was curious - thanks for your response.

the UMP is a machinegun. no matter what the barrel length, whether the stock folds or not, has silencers, bayonet lugs, grenade launders, rocket motors, whips, chains, or whale seman hanging off it - you, as a civilian, will not be able to buy it.

The AWB has nothing to do with it. It was deemed Machineguns manufactured after 1986 are not safe for your consumption.

You could, after the AWB ends, buy a USC (PC replica UMP) and dress it up any way you see fit. But you can not buy a UMP.

where exactly did you see a semi-auto-only UMP? I'd be interested in one.

You could always have a semi auto MP 5 SBR in .40 cal.:

I don't believe they can be imported for civilians.

Sadly no.

Just to clarify ....

UMP is a machinegun, they do make single shot (semi-auto) triggerpacks for UMPs , but with HKs these are still considered full-auto , as they are full auto trigger packs with just a safe and single setting. These will not be available after the AWB

The USC is HK's copy of the UMP in semi auto with the 16" barrel. As this is a 100% imported gun (for a facotry fresh USC) .

These will still be not able to have "evil features" under the import regulations under the importations laws.
