With all of the superhero movies coming out and doing very successful, would a He-Man movie be a bust or could it hold its own in the market today?

Negative ghost rider, the pattern is full

If Hollywood is involved it will be rewritten as She-man.

Sorrythere is just no way I know of to make it not be really gay.

And I say this as someone who enjoyed it as a kid. Everything about He-Man is just totally gay.

Even She-Ra is questionable these days.

To much homo erotica, well maybe that may make it a suckess
Link Posted: 1/17/2015 12:32:43 AM EST
I actually liked He-Man a lot as a kid (actually, I really liked Man-at-Arms and Ram Man a lot but w/e) but I don't think you could do a "serious" He Man movie today and get anyone to watch it. And if you go intentionally hokey with it instead, it will just be stupid.

I don't see it happening.

That's how you know how bad the He-man movie was.
If it was good you would have heard of it.

Does anyone know or even care who he man is anymore?
That was 30 years ago.

I take it back. Get Gilbert Gottfried on board as the voice of Skeletor, we might be able to make something work.

When that movie was originally released I wasn't interested. The t.v. cartoon show was big with my little brothers aged kids and younger. I was a teenagers and thought the cartoons from my younger years(Speed Racer, Johnnie Quest, etc.) were superior and He-man was a little kids show and retarded ( I still do think it was retarded-makes Lost in Space look like high art )
Years later I ended up renting and watching Masters of the Universe out of sheer boredom and was surprised by how much I was entertained by it in a good bad movie sorta way.
Also I watched some of Speed Racer when MTV reran it ( in the early 90's iirc ), and it was nowhere near as good as I remember it as a kid. Holy crap the animation was primitive even for the times.

Maybe as a porn movie.
Link Posted: 1/17/2015 12:44:56 AM EST
We should just demand a Phantom remake, then.

And yet again, another viable candidate to be remade in the porn genre.

The casting was good, the costumes were cool, the story and writing was horrid.

I just watched it the other night.. Along with another Dolph classic 'I come in Peace'. I still want that killer CD launcher.. or the Calico that fires exploding bullets.

What they really should make is a super hero porno movie where Dolph Lundgren is a scientist in a hot mesh tank top who can smell crime.

I would watch a he-man movie.
And a voltron movie.
And a thunder cats movie.
And a mr.t and friends movie.
Frankly I would watch any movie about a cartoon from my childhood.
Best cartoons decade ever!!

Skip ahead to Toy #1...

A lot has been made about the homosexual themes in the He-Man universe. And, many a young male began examine their He-Man action figure, feeling oddly uncomfortable at the sight of his flowing Prince Valiant hair-do, his oiled, ridiculously muscled torso and tiny furred Speedo. And, a look on his face that conveyed the act of physical love, captured in mid-grunt.

Those young males were already gay, a he man toy didn't do it to them.
