CNN has a story saying he is considering running for the Republican seat in the next election.

No.

Yep. I like him, and believe him to be a good leader. But he's far too liberal on many social issues.

RINO = Republican in Name Only... just FYI for those tuning in (I had to do a search).

He is not far enough to the right for me.

Still ... better than Billery!
Link Posted: 10/4/2005 6:28:18 AM EDT
Ahhhh, ok. Thanks.

Again, I was just curious.

+1, but that's a different question: Would Guiliani make a good Republican Presidential Candidate?

Agreed.

...and I know him personally.
Link Posted: 10/4/2005 6:45:56 AM EDT
He would be great if you want an anti-second amendment president. The NRA would get that word out way before he could be nominated.
Link Posted: 10/4/2005 6:47:30 AM EDT
pro-choice and pro-gun control, i still like the guy, just not for prez...
Link Posted: 10/4/2005 6:48:38 AM EDT
Did you mean to post this at the DU? he's anti gun and anti life.
Link Posted: 10/4/2005 6:48:50 AM EDT
As 0612Devil said, Rudy is vociferously anti-gun and would do his best to eliminate the RKBA.
Link Posted: 10/4/2005 6:50:09 AM EDT
A Republican from NY is a Democrat in TX.
Link Posted: 10/4/2005 6:50:14 AM EDT

yeah, the United States of New York!

Link Posted: 10/4/2005 6:50:39 AM EDT
Hes such a RINO he'd probably be thrilled to fuck log legs.
Link Posted: 10/4/2005 6:51:10 AM EDT
He's too liberal.

I think its going to be just the opposite. Bush was the "don't make waves, just win" candidate. After Bush's antics, the base is going to want someone more reliable, and the base dominates the primary process.

What worries me is a RINO like McCain getting mad that this isn't his "turn" and splitting the party.

I'd rather see some Dem like Richardson as POTUS than a RINO like Rudy. Sooner or later we've got to send a message to the Repubs that RINO's are NOT acceptable! The more we continue to vote for them as the "lesser of two evils" the more we tell them that RINO's are OK.
Link Posted: 10/4/2005 8:26:06 AM EDT
he was kind a of a fascist in new york. Now there are signs on all the streets that say "no standing anytime." [german accent] move along, move along [/german accent]
Link Posted: 10/4/2005 8:30:27 AM EDT
Anti 2nd
Link Posted: 10/4/2005 9:17:17 AM EDT
He is mister "get the guns off the street".

Therefore he is an enemy of the second ammendment, an enemy of the bill of rights, an enemy of the constitution and an enemy of America. A domestic enemy of the constitution.

Gitmo him. Now. Forever.

Rudy on gun control

I do not think the government should cut off the right to bear arms. My position for many years has been that just as a motorist must have a license, a gun owner should be required to have one as well. Anyone wanting to own a gun should have to pass a written exam that shows that they know how to use a gun, that they’re intelligent enough and responsible enough to handle a gun. Should both handgun and rifle owners be licensed...we’re talking about all dangerous weapons.

Rudy is probably NOT electable, since--

1) He is anti-RKBA and will lose millions of conservative voters on that issue
2) He is "pro-choice" and will lose millions of conservative voters on that issue
3) He has had cancer and will have many serious health questions
