A cheesy, ugly wallet my in-laws pulled out of the clearance bin at TJ Maxx or someplace similar. Just keep the $15. You'll save yourself 30 seconds, and we'll both be happier.

My dad always gets me a visa gift card from Walmart. He pays three and a half bucks to activate it and no matter where I go, I always seem to leave a couple bucks on it because places always give me shit if it's more than on the card. Or.....I lose it.

I'll get a shirt that doesn't fit, a book that I won't read and a bottle of booze that I will drink.

It's been the same thing for the last 10 or 15 years, why stop now?

I save myself the headache....... I tell everyone not to bother, all I want, is for them to have a nice, safe
Christmas with friends and family.

Has worked so far!

I buy my own presents, and if anyone wants to buy me something it gets cleared through the wife to make sure I need/want it, and that I haven't already bought it for myself.

I'm really good at buying the things I want when I want them so I am VERY difficult to buy for.

Very similar story here except that I tell my wife what I want and she takes care of it. She used to say, "don't you want to be surprised?" I said, "hell no, I hate surprises."

I keep telling my family that all I want from everybody is copies of family photographs (especially the really cool old ones of great grandparents and stuff) that we can put up on the wall space we have reserved for such things.

That started like three years ago. I haven't gotten a single damn photograph. And my parents, who aren't exactly stable yet financially due to my dad's health, keep buying me stuff.
