Great idea

I'll pick one up the next time I get a chamber flag (I know some ranges require them but I don't go to those ranges).

Well that's one of the dumbest ideas I've ever seen.

Heck, the R.A.F. figured out the whole "last 40 rounds of .303 tracer to tell the pilot he was about out" almost 80 years ago.

He shot, pumped; shot, pumped; shot, pumped; -click, no bang-

And the -click, no bang- wasn't enough of a clue that he was out of ammo?

Lol.

I heard a gun salesman tell a couple that the other day at the counter while I was looking at pistols. He then racked it 3 more times and I spoke up over them and said "Sir please stop and where is the bathroom, that noise caused me to piss myself". They all laughed but he gave me the go to hell look.

Are most of those not breachers/or boom-boom men looking at the tools/tape on their kit?
Link Posted: 6/20/2017 8:04:28 AM EST
I'm trying to decide it that would be useful on a 3Gun shotgun, and I don't see it.

I usually plan my reloads, and don't check the mag tube first.

No, there's one pic of a breacher but the rest were/are used for close quarters combat. Folks in that area seem to have an inordinate fear of shotguns. Shotguns and bayonets. So I would imagine this would drop them like a narcoleptic goat:

Way we train with our 870's..Plan or reload when needed/ behind cover. We don't look unless we are clearing and making safe.

I've got a buddy who'll undoubtedly purchase one of those if he sees it on a gun show table. He'll be drawn to it like a moth to a flame.

I know right!?!?!?!?! It will go great with my Shockwave!!!

Actually, I am only half kidding...I think it would be a cool little feature to add to a neat little gun! I use an AR and glock 21 for HD, so taking this to the range will only add to the conversation that is already being undertaken due to my little LEGAL shotgun!

I read an article in '04-05 about the combat shotgun in Iraq, from a guy whom carried a Mossberg 590. He said that the Iraqi kids all called him "Pooomp Ackshun" because of his weapon, and that he only used it twice in an offensive/defensive situation. Both times it put down his opponent quickly, and he was only issued slugs for ammunition.

I could use this on the skeet field.  Oh wait, I have a Citori O/U.  Darn.

Slugs are dandy out of a shotgun.  I've taken a liking to them more lately.  It's not like you don't have to aim with 00 anyway and really it doesn't spread all that much at typical ranges.  A slug will put a beat down on someone.

If they won't give us patrol rifles then I'll stick with slugs.

Yeah, you're always reloading the thing, the actual status of the tube kinda doesn't matter.

I once read an ad or a post on a forum about a mint condition Mossberg shotgun. I don't know if the writer did it intentionally, but I was able to pull "Minty Mossy Shotty" out of the post within the first two or three sentences.

All of my shotguns stop firing when out of shells. Then I know I need to reload.

the gun not going bang might be a good indicator you are empty.  just saying.
Link Posted: 6/20/2017 12:17:55 PM EST
Firing the gun to empty and getting a click instead of a bang is a faster way to know you're empty, rather than having to look ON THE BOTTOM SIDE OF THE GUN for a blinking red light.
Link Posted: 6/20/2017 12:26:19 PM EST
I have an orange follower in my 500, it was cheap and I thought it would be a good idea to have. Honestly though, it seems worthless as under stress you're gonna just run it dry anyway and hear a click. But, then again, the entire idea of a defensive shotgun seems worthless to me.

Which video game is this from?
Link Posted: 6/20/2017 12:28:42 PM EST
I can count backwards from 11 just fine and my shotgun locks back after the last round anyways.
