On Prime. Worth watching?
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 6:07:44 PM EDT
Yep.
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 6:08:12 PM EDT
I thought it was pretty good..one of the better zombie movies I've seen in a while.
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 6:08:23 PM EDT
yes worth it
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 6:08:27 PM EDT
It's not bad, other than trying to portray the UN in a favorable light.

The zombies are fast, not slow like most.

Great movie, but not enough zombie killing. The book is always better.
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 6:09:32 PM EDT
Watched it last night. Well worth it.
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 6:09:34 PM EDT
If you read the book and expect the movie to tell the story of the book - you will be disappointed (the book is a collection of stories, the movie follows one storyline)

If you have not read the book and are going in expecting a good zombie movie - you will be very pleased.

Just finished it right now for the second time.

"keep your finger off the trigger"

Great Movie!
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 6:10:29 PM EDT
For a movie it ain't bad. If you have read the book it is an abomination.
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 6:10:34 PM EDT
Un rated version .....
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 6:11:31 PM EDT
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 6:12:11 PM EDT
Meh, it was ok...

Link Posted: 6/15/2014 6:12:34 PM EDT
Very good movie. If you've read the book, try to imagine the movie with another tiltle. You'll like it a lot better.
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 6:13:22 PM EDT
I agree. Not too bad, just not great.
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 6:14:01 PM EDT
Not bad. Worth the watch.

I agree. It should have just been called "Brad Pitt, Zombie Basher".
Very little similarity to the book, but a good zombie action flick.
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 6:15:00 PM EDT
Good movie, I believe it just made it to Netflix as well.
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 6:20:20 PM EDT
I liked it. Think more I am Legend than Walking Dead.
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 6:20:24 PM EDT
I really liked it, those "zombies" were too fast though , I don't see how humans could ever win that war if it didn't end the way it did.
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 6:21:21 PM EDT
As you're watching it, it's "meh." Then, as you think about it more and more, it sucks.
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 6:41:15 PM EDT
I liked it. I was worried it would be all CGI zombies like I Am Legend, but I was pleasantly surprised for the most part.
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 6:43:31 PM EDT
Netflix has both the rated and unrated versions up simultaneously. I've never seen them do that with a movie before.
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 6:47:29 PM EDT
Zombie cream pies in the unrated version?
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 6:47:52 PM EDT
For free, hell yes.
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 6:50:25 PM EDT
Seems I heard they got Max Brooks' permission to do it, then told him to piss off while they made the rest of the movie. Saw an interview one time of him talking about it and he didn't sound very happy with how it all went down.

I'd do the same thing to that AR-bashing bitch.

So...it's like comparing the book "Starship Troopers" to the totally unrelated movie with the same name?

Max was kind of pissed, they pretty much made their own movie and threw the title of his best-seller book on it.

Max Brooks: "Dad, they put my name on a movie that is NOTHING like my book."

Mel Brooks: "Did they put your name on the check?"

Max Brooks: "Yeah."

Mel Brooks: "So why are you upset?"

It was slightly better then ok.
Slightly.

If you are a Zombie fan it's worth watching at least once.
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 7:30:52 PM EDT
Not that great.
If you have 2 hours to kill go for it.

I would agree. It's an okay movie to watch, but it's even more scientifically implausible than the average zombie movie.

I would Fo. Better than watching the evening news.
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 7:33:17 PM EDT
It's not bad, just forget it shares it's name with an excellent book.
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 7:33:55 PM EDT
it was a decent movie,good entertainment .

They've done it with a few others, I just can't think of which films.

And the unrated WWZ is better.

Good flick, however i liked the book better

I agree and that disappointment caused me to hate it! I was not impressed!

Good movie, but this is the 2010's.... we have CGI, script supervisors and all sorts of stuff. How f*cking hard is it, really, to make sure that the C-130 you're depicting doesn't magically turn into a RUSSIAN AN-12 AND BACK??
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 7:51:49 PM EDT
I enjoyed it.

Jesus, guys....

I'm a huge fan of the genre. Zombie fiction from time to time, the films, the TV series TWD, etc. Even the graphic novels on occasion.

I own a DVD of every decent zombie film ever made.

I do not own a DVD copy of WWZ.

The book was amazing. The film, with it's "gazelle like" jumping zombies, the snapping turtle zombies, and the absolute waste of the perfect opportunity to make a world class zombie film, all add up to no good.
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 9:31:31 PM EDT
I watched it yesterday on Netflix - I thought it sucked.
Link Posted: 6/15/2014 9:36:53 PM EDT
I thought it was awesome, but I do not recall the zombies actually eating anyone. They just seem to bite, infect and then move on.
