guess you can post in the 'have you ever won anything?' thread now
Seriously only $100?
I think You hit the jackpot. Eta for and idea of value, here are few for sale http://www.simpsonltd.com/index.php?cPath=179_215&sort=2a&page=4 Looks like one close to your pistol listed for $2750 |
It looks to be Mauser made. Is there a small hump in the back? What a score.
1942 Mauser, if the numbers match it could be worth $2k +
I don't think the grips were numbered on many wartime production P.08 so you could probably replace the damaged panel without harming the value. You stole it. |
I don't know much about Lugers, but I know what I like. SCORE!
Don't shoot it, especially if its all matching, If you break one of the matching number parts, You'll seriously affect the value to the tune of over 1k in some cases. A mismatched part can drop a 1600 luger to 500.00 in value.
Bullshit. There is no fucking way you got a near perfect condition Luger for $100 I fucking hate you OP
Who the hell puts something like that out of their collection without a minimum even if it is for charity... News flash you're the charity, that thing is beautiful. Matching number will greatly improve its value, but even if not, its still an awesome piece.
1170?
Take the grips off and see if they have the same serial number. Full matched serial numbers really drive the price up and early in the war the Germans being Germans would proof stamp and serial number even the grips. Check the magazine too if its matching. If its not reblued and all matching that is probably a $1200+ pistol |
Some widow is deciding which kind of cat food to buy with the $50 she made from selling her dead husbands prized nazi gun.
Hope your happy OP |

It appears you have one easily over 2K. |

WTF, how do you win that for $100 at any auction, let alone a Texas auction? People pay 2X retail NIB for used Highpoints at auction around here. Bidders swarm all kinds of crap.
It looks to have been reblued. But it still a hell of a deal.

Even small town billybobs should recognize that a Luger is worth more than $100.
Good catch, but it doesn't add up for me. |

Was waiting to bid on another item and passed on it. |

Ive got a piece or two from the 20's. Nothing that looks like that!!!!
Great pick up OP! |
Shoot the shit out of it, friendo. Don't safe queen it and don't worry about resale value.

Was this an auction for Hummel figurines so you were competing against a bunch of little old ladies who had no idea about guns and some how this got tossed into the mix?
I don't know a lot about Luger other than I'd pay $100 for any one of them in working order and walk away with a steal. |
