A Central Texas woman is wanted in a case of animal cruelty.

The attack happened in South Austin. According to the arrest warrant, Joanne Hinojosa, 31, of Kyle went to the house to confront her ex-husband.

After an argument, police say Hinojosa went into the house and stabbed the ex-husband's dog 27 times.

The dog had to be put to sleep because of his injuries.

Hinojosa is charged with cruelty to animals and family violence assault. Police say she is also charged with two counts of criminal mischief.
