The article says Kathleen Hampton, who is representing herself, had made a reservation for two but her husband "was still full from lunch and decided not to go." Hampton went anyway, and claims she was forced to wait while couples who arrived after her were seated first. And once she did get a table she says she was ignored. According to the article, "She then told a waitress she was ready to order, but the waitress replied that she would not be taking her order and that Hampton had to leave the restaurant and give up the table."
Hampton apparently doesn't give up easily, and says in the lawsuit that she asked to order a meal to go, but the restaurant said they didn't offer take-out. "That was the final straw," Hampton writes in the lawsuit. "I've never heard of a food place not having to-go." The restaurant owner, Enzo Lanzadoro, seems perplexed by the allegations, telling The Oregonian: "She made reservation for two and when she got there, said 'oh just by myself.' We offered for her to sit at the bar with other single diners since Valentine's Day is very busy, and all we know is she got up [from the table] and left without paying after she drank two glasses of wine." In the lawsuit Hampton says she was so "devastated she cried for a day," and is also demanding a public apology in local media "to make sure all business owners on N.E. Alberta know we are serious about our community." View Quote |

Probably a reason why the husband didn't want to go out with her.

I don't blame the husband one bit. I bet she has already lawyered up for their divorce. . |

Usually valentines day restaurant institute stricter policies and usually fixed menus (of course with increased prices).
I'm curious if she never got served and managed to get two glasses of wine... did she bring her own wine or did a robot deliver it? |

Her first mistake was to go to a Restaurant.
Is there anyone that works in one that can manage to serve, good, hot food to a table of four in 30minutes??? |

Interesting issue - she made a reservation for 2, and failed to deliver her part of the reservation. The restaurant probably did not allow reservations of 1 (no matter how large of asshole she was, she was only a single asshole), so offered to sit her at the bar with other parties of 1.
Basically she wants to sue because she was not offered the table she wanted. --- but if you allow the restaurant to do this - the next thing the will be doing is making blacks sit in the kitchen. BULLSHIT. |

Valentines day is a bullshit holiday anyway. It is for codependent fat chicks and crazy women with low self esteem. I don't think most women even know the origins of the holiday, just that they are likely to get a bunch of meaningless crap gifted to them by guilt tripping their SO.
For those that enjoy it, my apologies. But how is it different than any other day of the year if you are doing your relationship right? People in good relationships may go out to eat on that day, but they certainly don't need it. It is nothing more than a perpetuation of the entitlement mindset IMO. |
