I got you the perfect answer. Cause in a capitalist society the newsmakers dont broadcast what you SHOULD watch, but what you WANT to watch. It's all about the ratings. People want to stick their heads straight up their ass, they dont wanna hear about Terrorism or Iraq or whatever, Would you even consider America to be a country at war by how people act? So right now we wnat to go back to the "escapist" 1990's with OJ trials and Presidential Blow jobs, let's put off 9-11 for another decade.

Yea, Its being over done to the point of nauseum but then on the otherhand if it in some small way brings down more heat on the bastards that have had a history of getting off easier the last couple of decades so be it.

Nothing new...
The country reacted the same way when: Lizzie Borden was tried for murdering her parents in 1893. Bruno Hauptman was tried for murdering Linbergh's baby in 1935. The Clutter family was murdered in 1959 (The book "In Cold Blood" by Turman Capote is about these murders... a movie (Capote) came out a while ago about this...we are STILL facisnated with this crime) Charles Manson and his hippie cult commited the Tate/Labianca murders in 1969. David Berkowitz, Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, and yes, OJ Simpson are just a few more notables... So you see... Sensational coverage is nothing new in the media. Been going on for well over 100 years in this country, probably longer. |
