He was jumping his scooter. He has always been a daredevil kid. He took it like a champ though.

Nice work dad!  It's good that he is ok, but scars are part of what turns a boy into a man

Not too shabby. Should be ready for a dirt bike, after the stitches come out of course.

Doesn't even look phased. Did he ask when the next time he'd be able to ride again?

At least he wasn't impaled on fence while attempting to jump a jet ski into a swimming pool.

Nice.

My 4 year old has gone through 3 sets of stitches, 5 trips to the ER and could have had a 4th set of stitches.

I got plenty of the fire in a bottle.  I remind my daughter that she is missing out on childhood.  My Nana would whip that shit out for everything. We had a lot fewer bike wrecks but we learned pretty quick to dig out the gravel and keep going.

Good on your son for doing his own stunts.  Good on you for not coddling him like a fucking teacup.  We are raising my daughter to be tough.  She makes fun of the teenage boys that cone to work at the farm.  She'll tell them that she can outwork them in a heartbeat.

My 12 year old daughter managed to scrape the hell out of her arm and shoulder on a longboard the other day...same day she learned how to water ski.  Road rash takes a while to heal but at least she didn't need stitches.

That was par for the course for us kids growing up in the 70s, I broke my arm skateboarding, stitches in the arm from a bike stunt gone wrong, etc.

Now the little delicate flowers wear helmets and knee pads, bless their hearts...

Back in my day, Mom wouldn't have taken me in for that kind of wound.

Rub some dirt on in, and then ice cream.

Arterial occlusion. The blow forced the vitreous gel back into the central artery and cut off the blood flow to the retina.100% blind in that eye.

It doesn't slow him down much. The year after that he rode a bike into a curb and broke the ulna and radius, in his right arm, one inch above the wrist. Two years ago he sledded into a tree and broke 4 metatarsals in his left foot.

My hair is turning grey and falling out...
