Headed to MEPS Amarillo on Thursday night. Worried about the over 40 Cholesterol test. My levels were high due to eating Paleo, ratios LDL/HDL etc were great but overall number high. Eating oatmeal, fruit, red wine, etc for about a month now, levels should be lower. Running about 15 miles a week and Crossfit 4 times a week.

If they let me in, gonna go be Intel in Austin.

They don't offer waivers for that ? They have waivers for everything , which most of the time ends up flooding the army with idiots. Good luck !

Back from Amarillo MEPS. Tired and my arm is sore from Navy female missing vein in arm. She asked if I was hydrated, I Crossfit and run and have veins sticking out everywhere! The civilian found vein in about 5 seconds and proceeded to fill 2 vials of my blood.

Waiting on results of blood test and EKG. Doc said my heart rates was borderline low, I told him it was probably the result of running 20+ miles a week and the Crossfit, but doc said still needed to be checked by specialist.

I'm still sure cholesterol will be high, I'm cycling off Paleo, switching from meats to oatmeal. My HDL/LDL ratios were awesome my last test, but MEPS wants normal numbers. Recruiter said waiver should not be an issue with fitness levels

I hope they let me in, college degree, motivated, fit.

Just curious, how old are you? Enlisted, reserves, national guard?

My cholesterol was too high after being on Paleo, recruiters working on waiver.

Also I have to get a new SSN card, mine after a few military sponsored trips around the world is apparently illegible

Waiting, waiting.

I did MEPS at 35.

It was an irritating PITA, but I got through it.
