The little snow we had today made me realize the wifes wiper blades on the mini van suck. what are you all running? I was thinking about trying the Rain X version.

Bosch Icons

I recently decided to try the Rain X ones, but after using them I think I still prefer the Icons. The Icons have a better design to keep the wipers from lifting off the windshield.

Use them with some Rain X treatment on the windshield and you should be good to go.

Little extra money but worth it.  Search for mail in rebates.

I like the RainX blades.  Of course winter visibility requires a multipronged attack.  Clean inside of windshield to eliminate condensation nuclei and consequent fogging.  Clean outer surface.  Good fluid - nothing pisses me off like "-25F " fluid that flashes to solid ice on a +20F morning.  The orange RainX brand stuff at Walmart works well.  RainXed outer surface within the last few years (one application is beneficial for ages, but a windshield that has never seen RainX is horrifying).  Periodic replacement.  Out here with sandy roads, after 60,000 miles I can't take the pitting anymore.

I tried the high dollar Michelins that look like squeegees and did not like them.

Just put on a pair of Rain-X and they are the best I've ever used.

Pro Tip: Don't be an idiot and get bigger wipers than your vehicle calls for. If it calls for 2 - 20" blades, get 2 -20" blades, not 22" or 24".

Thank me later...

Icon's have a lot of hype and marketing around them.  I tried two sets.

If your windshield is sufficiently curved towards the sides, they won't make a good seal there, if they touch at all.

Good concept, crappy delivery.

I'm back to the tried and true undisputed king of wiper blades.

I use simple ANCO blades I get at Walmart.

I typically carry a spare set in each vehicle.  If one no longer performs properly I simply replace it in seconds.

Black wiper blades aren't tactical enough? Are they coming out with Multicam?

I don't like the newfangled ones.  I like the ones with metal arms.  RainX is fine though.

I use regular old Tricos and keep them changed every year.  Wiping the blade down with a cotton ball soaked in alcohol or Windex will make them like new again.

Valucraft.

They suck.

The Duralast (Autozone house brand) ones have always been very good, in my opinion; They're cheap enough to replace often, which is necessary in UT; they're also pretty good at wiping windshields.

Rain X latitudes for me.  Been a believer for about 3 years now.  Hear good things about those Bosch ones too, but I've never tried them.

FYI:  Do not use your wipers if there is ice on the windshield.  That will destroy them.

I spent a lot of money with the Rain-X wipers on three vehicles all at the same time. I really wish I hadn't.

The wiper creates some sort of suction, and when it reaches the top of it's arc, pulls water back down over the windshield it just cleaned. Does it on all three vehicles, and is borderline hazardous. As much as I love Rain-X, I will not buy any of their wipers again.

+1

The more expensive blades work great when new but I find that they don't last any longer than the cheap ones. The squeegee types suck in winter.

After using Anco's for years I have switched.  I had two pair of Anco shit the bed in a 3 month time frame, I then went with the Rain-X and they died in six months.  I read different reviews on the internet and went with the Valeo 600 series.  So far they have been a pretty good wiper, now I need to wait them out and see how long they last.

I like these a lot, especially in winter. The old-style ANCO/TRICO wiper blades with the perforated metal frame and exposed springs collect ice in the winter, rendering the wipers pretty useless. These Bosch Icon wipers don't pack up on the back, which is just as important as the blade itself when it comes to cleaning the windshield.

I love that first wipe with new blades.

Winter wiper blades especially where you live.Takes way longer to freeze up than regular wiper blades.I drove 80 miles each way to work in the winter when I lived in NY,and they made the drive way better than reg. blades !!! (What ever brand you can find)

I put my only Rain X on as I was leaving college yesterday, but I did it when it was raining and I only bought one, I am cheap gluing the passengers side on with weatherstrip adhesive to get another few months out it. Damn wipers dry out if I put them on too soon.  Treat my windshield with Rain-X and it lasts for awhile.

Been using these on all my vehicles for the last 20 years.  I get a year to year and a half out of them, ordinarily.

This. Just replace them when they tear.
