I had to reformat ans install 98se on our old computer. After I did so the monitor is only displaying either 2 or 16 colors.

The monitor is about 4 years old. Made by Amptron.

Users to be-able to display in 32 bit.

Can you get to the internet to download new drivers?

You need the graphics drivers...whether they be onboard or on a AGP or PCI Card.

MJ,
You need to know the manufacturer of your video graphics card or on board chip set. Go to the
manufacturers website and dowload the drivers for that video card/chip set. Just install them
and you should be set.

Change your screen resolution to 1024x768

Right Click on the Desktop\Properties\Settings Tab, slider on the bottom right.

Lookes like the best I can get now is 800X600. Thats even in True Color(24Bit)

According to the SIS website, it should support 1024 x 768 @ 24 bit color, but a refresh rate of 120hz.

Hope this helps.
