Will he turn off the printing presses?

The President does not control the creation of money.
His only influence over that is through the power to veto appropriation bills. Of course if he did veto appropriation bills on the grounds that expenditures exceeded revenue the congress could, and probably would, override the vetoes.

Pretty sure there's no way to stop QE without the house of cards crashing down. Trump can advocate for policy in the right direction, but I think too much has already been propped up artificially to really make a whole lot of difference.

I thought the interest rate hike meant QE was finished for now.

You don't really believe Janet Yellen is independent do you? She's just a stooge of Obama, soon to be a stooge of Trump. The fed chairman will do what the president wants.

Will Trump push for an audit of the FED? Will he push for the revocation of the FED's charter?

The rate hike was only .25%, it really needs to be at 3% or more before it's QE is 'over'.
And it may be too late.

That is not what "quantitative easing" does.

You have the relationships backwards. The people who run the economy call the shots. The Chair of the Fed and the President do as they are told.

If the President doesn't play along, the economy comes to a screeching halt and he becomes the next Herbert Hoover.

QE ended in Oct 2014.

The ongoing pomo operations are pretty benign.

You do know that they did stop the process technically known as QE already right?  Or are you refrencing current "policy" for easy money and artificially low interest rates that our economy is now addicted to?

I didn't know it stopped.

I'm thinking this^^^^ To many of U.S. are dependent on the crack. I think the world will have to crash and burn first.

It hasn't. The FED hasn't started shrinking it's balance sheet. It maintains it. Which means that as the debt they hold matures, they buy new debt with the cash. Still going strong, my friends.

In January 2018;  she'll be gone when her term ends.

Expect her to cause problems until then.

Is this a semantic thing? Like QE - the name - is over but the Fed is still pumping untold billions of dollars into the economy to keep it afloat? "Mission Accomplished" kinda thing?
