I think I need a 10/22 right now. Walledmart has it for $180, should I go and get it or spend next 2 weeks looking for it cheaper?
You might find it cheaper somewhere else, but not a whole lot cheaper. Buy two and be happy.

Try the local pawn shops.
I can usually pick one up for $100 to $125. |

Why do I need 2, I also gotta get atleast 3k rounds for it, extra mags. I got a highdollar 22 but its abit of a pain |
I'd say buy it at Walmart ASAP. It's one of the few things they have left that wasn't made in China.

I would but nearest ones are Columbia 65.1 miles Greenville 94.6 miles |
Buy it. You will spend $30 on gas driving around trying to save $20. And it will be new.

Wal mart price matches. |
Do you have Academy Sports where you live? They have them for $159, last time i looked.
![]()
Thank you. Thank you so much. Really, I'm being serious. I am so tired of people saying "just go to Academy" without realizing that they are not a national chain and that most of us do not have an Academy to go to. ![]() |

Hope not. I just bought a stainless 10/22 last week from them. |
yes, get it at wal mart and be done with it.
wal mart does not sell factory seconds, quite spreading bullshit like this. |
![]()
No they don't. |

We have one here but was either $190 or $200 when I looked other week |
A Ruger 10/22 in 18 1/2" cost me 172.55 shipped to me if I buy one. Just go buy one at Wally-World!
![]()
Wal-Mart and Ruger both deny that. |
I also just received my 3 Tactical Innovations magazines...so let the plinking begin!
Is it worth $20 to deal with Wal-Mart's fumble-fucking through the 4473? That can easily run 30min to an hour with them. Not worth it to me.

It is an urban legend, or an arfcom legend, one in the same. Hopefully Pale Pony was being sarcastic, rather than an idiot. Kinda hard to tell these days. |
Will they go on clerance sale when Wally World stops carrying firearms?
I don't know about where you are, but around here 10/22s show up as loss leaders in the sporting goods flyers (Big-5, GI Joe's, Sports Authority, etc.) in the Sunday paper now and then - Usually for $149, $159 or $169. I'm planning to pick one up next time it happens.

+1
Buy from your local FFL. Support the people that support us. Is saving 5-10 really that important? |
![]()
I'm not sure that any of my local FFLs "support us". None of them are sponsors, anyway. |
I did a lot of looking around for best prices down here before I got one from Walmart as a gift for Christmas. I got the SS version and couldn't be happier.

Also true for me. From the time I said "I'll take it" to the time I was escorted out of the building with my purchase, it was over 30 minutes. |

Been thinking about getting a stainless one, but will be purchasing a different stock. Does anyone just sell a barreled action? Speaking of 10/22 mags., who offers the best, most reliable mags for em these days? I'm having flashbacks from 1996-7 of 50 rd. RamLine HotLips jam-o-matics. In fact, they were the reason I sold my stainless 10/22 back in the day. I was young and dumb and because of the ban which I had no clue existed, they were hard to come by and expensive. |
As far as going on clearance, my local wal mart guy said that when they were told to stop carrying them, they were boxed up and sent to a walmart out in the sticks that was still going to sell firearms. They were not discounting them.
I'm not sure how they decide at the home office, but as a Fall-Apart guy in the sticks, I've been told that some firearms are HEAVILY discounted, and the rest are sent to stores with better firearm sales. I've been told of Weatherby Vanguards being sold for $250, and that was from one of the managers.

I have not used the latest Tactical Innovations all-aluminum mags ($$$) but from what I have read the most reliable are the Ruger factory 10rd mags. Personally I use the Butler Creek Steel Lips mags ($28/mag from Midway USA) and they're generally reliable (not 100% dead-bang reliable). ![]() (the above 2006 built-rifle was using an old 1990s-era Ruger 10/22 ... I am still boycotting Ruger) |
ruger does not sell direct to ffls, only available though distributors, ruger does not sell seconds period.
The Wal Marts around me stopped selling shotguns and rifles a few weeks ago
![]()
I bought the composite ones... www.tacticalinc.com/ti25-advanced-composite-steel-magazine-ruger-1022-p-532.html They have a package deal of 3 magazines and a generic loader for $99. www.tacticalinc.com/three-1022-advanced-composite-mags-p-545.html |

Make sure you hide the receipt and run out the door yelling Iraq is freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.... ![]() |
![]()
Mythbusted! Wal-Mart probably buys more Rugers than anybody else, hard to believe Ruger would make 25% of their stock seconds. Buy it at Wal-Mart when you still can. My Wal-Mart sold their last gun last week. |
I bought my Vanguard for $200 a few years ago, brand new from WalMart.
![]()
And Pale-Pony, I don't care if that was a joke or not, stop spewing that BS. People see it and take it for true and post it somewhere else. |
![]()
Well, they are just both evil capitialist corportations, one bent on killing people and the other bend on keeping people poor and without health care. So of course they are lying. |
A 300 Wby Vanguard in the case at work today sells at around $500, as I recall. Home Office keeps raising the ammo and firearm prices every year.
![]()
How are you liking those mags? With that deal they are almost the same price as Butler Creek Steel Lip mags .... |
![]()
That's a myth perpetrated by gun dealers to justify charging $50-$100 more than Wal-Mart. In reality, Wal-Mart can afford to sell them cheaper because of high-volume purchasing. |
![]()
Where do you people come up with this shit? |
![]()
Yep Looked at local place and Academy $200 at local shop $190 at Academy $180 at Walledmart If it was a 2nd I would expect it to be more then $20 cheaper. |
![]()
Yes it is when the local dealer wants 30 to 40 dollars more. |
