My state little Rhode Island may join California,  Maryland and the other commie states in trying to be the state that the next Civil War starts in. One of our commie legislators introduced a bill that among other things would require that all "assault rifles” not possessed before 1994 be turned in to the state. To me this would be a declaration of war and I will never give up my rights. I am really ticked off and that is putting it mildly. 11-47-63. New assault weapons banned. -- No person shall sell, offer for sale, transfer or possess an assault weapon or a large capacity feeding device that was not otherwise lawfully possessed on September 13, 1994. Whoever not being authorized violates the provisions of this section shall be punished, for a first offense, by a fine of not less than one thousand dollars ($1,000) nor more than ten thousand dollars ($10,000) and by imprisonment for not less than one (1) year nor more than ten (10) years, and for a second offense, by a fine of not less than five thousand dollars ($5,000) nor more than fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000) and by imprisonment for not less than five (5) years nor more than fifteen (15) years.

Don't worry, I saw on the Discovery Channel tonight that within a few thousand years a mega-tsunami will originate from the Canary Islands as the result of a giant, volcanic-induced landslide, sending a wall of water 650 meters in height westward at a speed of 2,100 miles per hour, destroying the east coast for up to 12 miles inland. That'll take care of the eastern demos at least.

Regarding the Rhode Island thing, these guys are nazi traitors.  Short of performing the indicated response, I would suggest pouring cash into GOA, NRA/ILA, and your state association.  They might be traitors, but they are whores, too.  Cheaper to buy them in the long run.  Civil wars are emotionally and financially costly.  Besides, this has become a nation of whimps.  You would be on your own, out on a limb.  Remember, this is Amerika.  He who has the courage to act is wrong!

What if THEY decided to ban SUVs right now?  How many folks would voluntarily turn in a $40k vehicle?

This is Un-American.  You can't just declare someone's property illegal after they bought it legally.  It ain't right.

Remember all that BS that you heard about that your gun is a public nuisance, the govt could declare guns a public nuisance, and pass a law to confiscate it, you know like a drug dealer’s house etc.

I don't think civil war two will happen, in Rhode Island or anywhere else for that matter, for a long time to come.  The population of the United States is too soft, too compliant, too addicted to their cell phones and TV's and all the other tripe that everyone is supposed to want these days. There will be no popular uprising to the un-constitutional laws that will continually come down the pipe. And even if it did happen, the population of the US is so fragmented and so divided that it would be small and easilly crushed by the Government.

Civil war two will come about when its too late.  It will come about when society falls apart and quality of life has decreased to the point where war is more favorable than peace. It won't come about until our selfish, arrogant, pampered, third-world-immigrant-bloated population can no longer feed itself and provide for the safety and health of its citizens.

I've publicly stated that I have no intention of turning over my guns.

Let's say you wake up to take the dog out at 4:00 am.  You look outside and see the JBT's preparing to raid your house.  I see 3 possible outcomes:

1.  They come in shooting and kill you.
2.  They plant evidence and you go up the river
3.  They take your guns to Quantico and work'em over for 8 hours until they fire full auto and you go up the river.

You lose in all 3 scenarios.  IF you could survive and win in court, you are broke.  Why not shoot it out?

Question for those willing to fight:

Assume you and I are good shooting buddies.  A friend in the Police force tells you that my house is going to be raided for illegal weapons.  Do you show up to fight?  What about when they claim I'm downloading kiddie porn and planning the overthrow of the government?

The problem we have is that they control the disinformation.  You know me, you know my guns are legal and you can't believe I'm into the other things they claim, but can you be sure?  Would you bet your life and liberty on it?  No.  You have too much to lose and can't be 100% certain they aren't right.

Consequently, they can take us down 1 at a time.

Well we would have already talked about this before hand and made a pact that we would defend each other hopefully as part of a Militia group. And yes even if I was the first one there I would help you fight. Think about what would happen if the police had you trapped and another patriot was across the road firing from behind the police and they were trapped in a crossfire between you and me. It is disheartening that SO many folks would buy the party line that their friend had illegal arms, kiddieporn, etc...

I would be happy to see gun owners follow the 60's Black Panther method of everyone showing up with a weapon when someone was getting arrested, and ensuring a safe, legitimate arrest.  No fight, just a show of force to ensure the police follow the law.

Too many police raids are ending up with an innocent gun owner getting smoked.

In 67 the Panthers had the balls to march ARMED into the state assembly chamber in sacramento to protest the bill that would prohibit open carry in the state.
