And by us I mean anyone right of center from a political standpoint?

I know I'm a little late to the party on this and haven't had time to scour wikileaks, but I just saw a video of a bunch of people getting lit up by an AH-64. Some camera/reporter people walking with some armed people.

As far as I am concerned looks like a legit shoot. Yeah some reporters got killed, but hey, if they weren't walking around with armed people in a war zone I doubt they would have gotten shredded by a 30mm.

I see this as a good thing, I can imagine the rest of the populace would freak out, blame Bush and then go buy some Red Bull with food stamps.

Anyone?

Years ago I would have said bad, but now when I see just how corrupt and self-serving our politicians are I think that Wikileaks on the whole is a good thing.

Unless you're still gullible enough to think the slimy politicians are concerned with the good of our country, vs what's good for them.

Everyone gets pissed at the TSA for feeling everyone up.
Alot of people get pissed at the government for searching people.
he fact is, wikileaks gropes the TSA and government.  The internet has always been something beyond governments, and now governments want to change that.  The internet, conducts "full body scans" on the "States" and that is the worlds governments.  This is being lost as more governments encroach.

Since when is supporting a mercenary espionage ring a good thing?  They solicit people to break the law to give them stolen classified information with the intent to do damage to our country and our allies.  George Soros funds it specifically to commit espionage not sell Girl Scout cookies.  Russia thanks them for the free state secrets after all they don't have to risk their own intelligence resources.  I can't imagine any American supporting it and not be a traitor at heart.  There is no good reason.  The end does not justify the means especially if it puts any American whatsoever at even mild risk.

Wikileaks spins thier message just like any other information source, especially the government.  Their angle is blatantly left wing, anti war, anti US as superpower, etc.

Above all that, this Assange guy is a douche of the highest order.  Something about him makes me want to punch him in the face.  The whole use of illegally obtained documents as blackmail to keep from facing rape charges means that I will oppose whatever he does on principle.

I'd be happy if Wikileaks gave up information about a birth certificate belonging to a certain Commander in Chief.

But divulging .mil info? Fuck that.

His motivations or personal issues have zero to do with the content. I'm personally more concerned with the motivations of those to whom we've entrusted our governance.
If the documents he's exposing show that the will of the American people is either being ignored or subverted by our leaders, then yes... that's something I most certainly want to know.
If the interests of the American people are being misrepresented abroad, then yes... I want to know that too.

If our leaders conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the ideals upon which this nation was founded - the same ideals which until recently made us the most beloved nation on the face of the earth - then bullshit like wikileaks would be a non-issue. There would be nothing of interest to leak. Just be straight-up. It's that simple.

Problem with very large chunk of the classified documents released on .mil is that they are documents that should have never been classified in the first place.  I checked a few out the other day to see what kind of sensitive information was being released on .mil and how damaging it really was came to the realization that there is a blanket classification policy where national security and whatnot never enters the picture.  There may have been some damaging files in there, but they were lost in the sea of mundane documents.   The US really needs to unscrew its policies on classification and it really needs some harsh oversight to prevent everything from dumb blanket policies to outright criminal abuse.

Anything that brings light upon the backroom, underhanded, slimy shit that politicians do is a good thing.
