She landed just minutes ago in Norfolk to harvest a liver for a transplant.  Bell 407.  She's still just a dirty leg tho  I told her landing with the copter is so boring.

Bell 407s are my favorite bird.

It might be because I have almost half the landings in them as I have takeoffs in them:

I have begged my RN daughter to never take a job on a helicopter.  The ones around here seem to drop from  the air on a very regular basis

She's still an intern, she's on transplant service right now.  But she went to med school late in life, she's actually one of the oldest residents in her program...she turns 34 this year.  She just looks like a kid

So she just got back.  She liked the helo rides, and she loved the entire experience.

They ended up not taking the liver (nobody did...wasn't a good liver.)  They did however take the kidneys, another team took the heart, and the team that came for the lungs ended up not wanting them, but they got shipped to NYC.

It's an amazing process to watch, like an international organ auction.

That's how she described it.  Said there were like 18 people in the OR, and the folks from whatever the organization that doles them out were there in the OR on laptops and cell phones, and everyone was yelling...she said it was like the floor of the stock market.
