She surprised me when she asked to give it a try. Hadn't shown any interest prior to. She had grown up with guns in the family but just never got involved. I trained her on iron sights using the truck gun and we plan to progress from there. She proved to be an excellent shot right out of the gate, not having any bad habits to unlearn. When we were done I had her break it down and clean it. This winter I'll walk her through assembling one from scratch that she can call her own, including barrel assembly. I really want her to know the platform. It was a cold morning!

She tried something smaller this past summer.

Nice work.

My wife shot an AR once and said "The stock hurts" Yet she shoots her AK with a steel butt plated commie stock just fine.

Hmmm...that is interesting especially given the caliber difference (assuming 47 and not 74).

Shooting with the wife is always fun.

I used to own a Marlin 1894c in .357 magnum.

Then my wife shot it, and it's her gun now.   She'll shoot it all day, likes it more than pistols, ARs, anything.

Oh she loved it. She liked the adjustable stock and length of the carbine. Wants to learn more and more. Wants to get her carry permit. Doesn't mind me buying up gun parts for future builds. I hooked a good one with her.
