Another damn remake. If there isn't close to the same amount of nudity in the pagan rituals, etc I'll not only be sorely dissapointed, but it may escalate to violence.

Leelee Sobieski and Ellen Burstyn are joining Nicolas Cage in Neil LaBute's indie The Wicker Man, produced by Millenium Films, Equity Pictures and Emmett/Furla Films. A remake of a 1973 British horror film, Wicker Man centers on a police officer (Cage) who is investigating the disappearance of a girl in a small cultlike community. Sobieski plays a barmaid who is Cage's confidant. Burstyn plays the head of the cult. The film is shooting in Vancouver. Visit HollywoodReporter.com for more ...

The original:

Great friggin' job by Christopher Lee.

Oh, no...

This is bordering on sacrilege. The story is so uniquely and necessarily tied to the British Isles that a Hollywood bastardization is almost certainly doomed to suck very, very, very badly.

This one belongs in the Sleepers thread as well.

Can't wait until some hack decides to remake Naked Lunch.

Nicolas Cage? I'll pass.

The original is ok and probably won't be improved on, especially with this cast.

I agree. Doomed to suck more than the remade Italian Job.

So if it's half as good as the original, does that mean we get to see Leelee Sobieski romp around in the buff or what?
