i was bored 2 day and was just thinking about the war on terrorism after this new Bin Laden audio tape came out 2day, and i realized something. The war will never end. There are a billion people out there that hate us, as well as thousands being born every day. The hate for us is almost genetic, its inbred in every muslim person world wide. Its taught by our enemies and so-called friends from the moment a child can comprehend, that we are the devil, the infidel. With this threat hanging over us, we will never live in peace again. Whether we are led by the Demoncrats or Republicans  it will never go away. Our economy wil never flourish as it had it the past. Life as we know it pre 9/11 is gone.We can wipe Iraq off the face of the earth and its not gonna do a damn thing. most Americans have a regard for human life, our enemies do not. we believe in a peaceful, loving almighty being whether it be Judeo or Christian they do not.

I dont want this to be taken the wrong way, but nothing short of genocide will stop terrorism.
Since we are civilized people, and will never condone an extermination of a type of people, because its just morally wrong. I cant see ever
being able to win over the hearts and minds of this religion, that wants us all dead

sorry for Ramblin

The "War on Terror" isn't supposed to end....Think about it. It's the ultimate boogy-man. Better than the "Cold War" ever was.

Not ALL Muslims are against us. But if they need wiped out ... too bad , so sad !!!!

It would make my day if I felt the ground shaking in Arizona from all the Nukes going off in the Middle East !

The Muslim extremists want war , we should give them unequivocal war ! Spare no one , Scorched Earth Policy must be used .

Make war so horrible for them that it will cause a "Reformation" to the Islamic religion. Then the world should be at peace for a thousand years !

If you have any other ideas how to stop those barbarians , I'd like to hear them. We CANNOT go on this present course of appeasement to cheap, tin-horn child molesters DICTATORS akin to Hitler in headscarves !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GET CIVILIZED OR PERISH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There will always be those that perform terrorist acts.  But we can deny those people a friendly country in which to train, recruit and raise money.
Frankly, we have to keep fighting terrorism...we simply have no choice.  Surrender=death.

Up until the 1980's, there was peace through fear. The Islamic terror types viewed America as an unstoppable giant -- an enemy they would not dare attack. The Marine barracks bombing was the first major test of US resolve. And what was the result? Reagan pulled us out of Beirut. That was viewed as a sign of weakness. We made up for it somewhat in the Gulf War, but then later we sent a new message in Somalia, that we are unwilling to accept casualties. Bloody our nose and we are out the door.

Through the 1990's we showed nothing but weakness. Pulling inspectors out of Iraq, throwing cruise missiles around instead of going face to face with the enemy.

The message was clear: Americans are cowards who hide behind their technology. Give them a bloody nose and they will fold.

9/11 was the ultimate bloody nose, with the goal to get us out of the Middle East, which may lead to the fall of Israel.

The only hope for us is to reassert ourselves in the Middle East. We are dealing with people who understand nothing but power and war. Diplomacy is a sign of weakness.

We are on the right track. We reasserted ourselves in Afghanistan and perhaps Iraq is next. But we must be consistent. Any attack against our people or our interests must be dealt with overwhelming violence and destruction. That is the ONLY way you can earn the respect of these people.

I agree wholeheartedly; The government needs a cause to forward its own agenda.

Terrorism is the perfect cause. Someone else is to blame and all measures taken are for our supposed security and well being.

It's gonna get really ugly and if it ever ends, which I doubt it will, we will have lost our freedom as we know it and will be even more vulnerable to attacks from both domestic and international sources.

I thought the reason was that the politico's didn't have the stones to put this nation first and do what has to be done, so they side with the lefist socialists that are trying to take control of this nation.

Somalia was seen as weakness.
Kosovo was seen as weakness - bomb from afar.
Response to Embassy bombings in Kenya - bomb from afar.
Allowing Iraq to rebuke terms of surrender.

All weakness.  I think our response to 9/11 was surprising to them.  They probably thought we would bomb them from afar and it would be over.

i believe the answer is found in the following statement.  sorry i don't remember who it's attributed to, or exactly how it goes, but the gist of it is-

"go after 'em until they fear us more than they hate us"

i'm sure somebody out there can clear up the particulars of this quote for me.

The obvious way to win the war on terrorism is genocide.

As far as the moral implications of this step, if it is them or us there is only one choice.  You didn't see many moral implications being discussed at the end of WWII.  After Nagasaki, we had a dozen more nukes ready to go and there is no question we would have used them.

Gladly.

Any method other than genocide will just reduce the problem.  The question is how much of this shit we are willing to put up with, and how effective those other methods are.

Absolutely true.

Here is the triple threat to freedom for Americans.

1.  The War on Poverty

2.  The War on Drugs

3.  The War on Terrorism

This nation will NEVER win any single one of these.  The leadership can't afford to win because these are the engines of fear and helplessness that ensure that they will not be removed from power.

Ladies, Gents,

Bin Laden, et al, are all about how we support the "Zionist oppressors".

Like it or not, until the situation in the mid east is fixed where the moderates on each side can see some just solution, the extremists will have the advantage.

Are you the Anti-Christ? [wink]

Sounds similiar to the Bible and end time propecies... Armageddon, blood and destruction, followed by 1000 years of peace.

As per the title of this thread... That may be correct, we may never win the WAR against terrorism (exterminate it). But we sure aren't going to lose the WAR.

Face it, anything a handfull of nutjobs can do to us is the equivelant of shooting spit-wads at a pitbull. The best you're gonna do is piss it off... Or perhaps a flea on a pitbull is more of a better analogy.

So the alternative would be....  ?

Putting out fires all over the place but never getting to the root of the problem?

Playing a Clintonesque cruise missle "shell game " - bombing terrorist camps one-by-one only to watch the maggots crawl to the next dirtbag nation willing to defend them for a few more years?

Pulling up our tent stakes and going home (complete isolationism) - only to delay the inevitable aquisition of NBC weapons by terrorists who can (and will) EASILY sneak them into our country and use them in OUR cities?

Lots of criticism of this new "hundred years war" that we didn't start, but I don't hear any better alternatives from anyone here.

Personally, I can't think of a better way to defend America than to fight our wars in THEIR backyards.

Our wars haven't been Wars since WWII.  Police Action, Conflicts, etc.  Our police actions have become wars - War on Poverty, War on Drugs, War on Terror.  No "War on" will ever be won - define victory - no poverty, no drugs, no terrorism??  Terrorism has been around as long as recorded history.  We need to more clearly describe who we are at war against, our enemy.  Without a clear enemy to triumph over, victory is not possible.
