A coworker told me he was staying in a hotel and went to the front desk to ask for lotion...
The lady tells him that the hotel doesn't have any lotion, he asks why and she responds "The housekeepers don't like cleaning the lotion out of the bed and carpet." |

LOL! I would sometimes check into a hotel to get work done. I'm pacing around the room and notice one of the chairs looks like someone shat in it. I go to the front desk and tell the girl –– I didn't need another, but I'd prefer to not look at it. She said she'd come get it; I didn't want her to have to leave her post and had figured maintenance would have been sent for it. I go bring it to her and she opens a door, "just put it in here with the others." No lie, there was a room with ass-stained chairs awaiting disposal.

What kind of crappy hotels are you staying in? I always see lotion/soap/shampoo samples in the bathroom of all the places i've stayed.

There's been lotion in every hotel room I've ever stayed in....

Most decent major brand hotels offer lotion for their guests. If it is not placed in the room as a standard, then it is usually available upon request. What the hell kind of lotion are they worried about with the bedding anyway? That bedding should be getting washed when a guest checks out so what difference does it make if there is lotion on it? The biggest pain in the ass to get clean in the hotel laundry is pillowcases from female guests that did not wash their makeup off before going to bed. Of course, getting the damn makeup stains out of the washcloths is no fun either. Use all the lotion you want, just tip the housekeeper you cheapskates. j/k ETA - Apparently, I needed to add a smiley to the tip comment so that people know that is was just a little sarcasm. |

What's worse are the couches/chairs/ottomans that have the stains on them, what kind things unhygienic dirty naked people do on those things I do not understand. NASTY. |

The correct response in that situation was: Fine! I'll just use the conditioner, then. |

I had a girlfriend that left what we called the mysterious "Maybelline Shroud of Turin" on my pillowcase from some activity requiring her to be facing down on the pillow and me behind her for some time. It never came out and we made a flag out of it for our hunting "clubhouse" |

That's the reason that, no matter what else I sacrifice when traveling or on vacation, I stay in a nice hotel. Hilton at the minimum.

I had a mechanic tell me about how if a woman wore a lot of makeup, you could see her face imprints/marks in the airbag after an accident. |

Usually stay in upper tier hotels (Hilton, Embassy Suites, etc.). Now tell me: Should I avoid touching the bed comforter? I assume that the sheets are always fresh, but I am somewhat doubtful that hotels repeatedly wash comforters. If not the comforter, then whatever the hell goes on the bed last. |

We have all sorts of stain removers with degreasers, enzymes, etc but sometimes you just have to bleach it. |

If you stay one night and then check out with no daily maid service at all other than the room being clean when you check in, I wouldn't expect there to be a tip. A guest that stays a week and has their room serviced 6 times during there stay may be different. |
