... There's been a new ruling on this reading: No longer must it actually be isolated to a "tape measure" if in fact it is an "instrument to measure distance". Example: As of late we've seen dial indicators and laser rangefinders. The committee is looking to expand on the reading to include "instruments that measure anything". Hopefully a final judgement on this request will become public no later than September 14, 2004.

Actually the tape measure is included as a point of reference so that diners viewing at home can easily measure their own meat and see how it stacks up compared to the poster's meat.
