It seems like it causes more problems than it solves. I bet it causes a lot of tricky problems for time-specific things. I mean, what is done about things that need to be recorded that happen in that "one lost hour" when you go back an hour?

Well, it is useless at the equator and useless at the poles, but around 35-45 latitude, you might convince some people that they aren't actually getting to work at 7 am and leaveing at 4 pm.
I also like how the British do not call it Savings Time, but Summer Time. They know no one is saving shit. |

You haven't lived until you've worked a graveyard shift and worked an extra hour for free due to DST.

DST makes me want to drown a bag of kittens, or punch a puppy.

I think Arizona has it right. They set the clocks on DST then snapped off the adjustment button. There is no move ahead, move back bullshit.
|

Just to piss you off. It's a conspiracy. Glen Beck says Van Jones has something to do with it.

If it's Time Specific, I'm sure it has NTP to grab time from a time server or The United States Naval Observatory.

You haven't lived until you've worked a graveyard shift and worked an extra hour for free due to DST. You are required to be paid for actual time worked. When I work a night shift and time falls back, I get paid for 13 hours. |

Since it begins at the start of the warm season and ends when it starts getting cold, I always just figured it was a scheme by politicians, lawyers and bankers to get in a few extra holes of golf after work.

I think that it is so that I both go to work and home from work in the dark.

I think we should be on GMT with a 24-hour clock. Simple. I can dig that I guess. Efficient. |

I like not having to deal with it. But since I interact with people in other time zones it does affect me to a degree. A lot of people don't really seem to understand time zones as it is.

You haven't lived until you've worked a graveyard shift and worked an extra hour for free due to DST. I work third shift... but not Saturday night / Sunday morning. In the fall, that shift gets screwed. This weekend, that shift got off an hour early! But yeah, DST is no longer useful. |

Not really. Southern Indiana here. Some neighboring counties and states are onEasteern some are on Central. We manage...biggest issues are with scheduling sports events. (HS).
It used to be worse, because some counties would follow DST and others wouldn't. We need DST, because we don't live in Alaska and don't want dusk at 10 p.m. and dawn at 8 a..m.

Of course, I have to stay an extra hour, or use an hour of time off on the other end. We were told we get the time back when the time changed again. Only we were changing shifts every 3 months and worked 6 on 3 off so it never worked out that we did. And, we lost hours and money due to a 28 day pay period. |

Another shining example of libtard "feel good" policy. It's for the children. F&@$/rs even think they can regulate the time. Can you say unconstitutional?

as long as the sun doesn't set until 8 pm during the summer, you can call it princess time for all I care.

About thirty years ago a male stewardess had sex with a chimpanzee during a lay-over in Africa. We have had to deal with Daylight Savings Time (or, DST) ever since.
