I'm curious on this one. I've owned all four Japanese main brands, plus one Triumph. Planning to buy a HD this coming spring if nothing changes. May still have to vote Honda because they once, between 1998 and 2001, produced the VFR800 with gear driven cams and without VTEC.

Yamerhaw.
I have owned their motorcycles and A/V receivers. May have owned a Yamaha musical instrument as well back in the day. Even though the HD final assembly plant is in my home state, I cannot support their union labor. |
|
I have owned many Harleys but if I bought a scooter today it would be a BMW R1200GS Adventure !
|
|
I've ridden motorcycles for the last 37 years, and while I've ridden most brands I will admit that I've only owned Japanese products.
Honda is my choice for my most reliable MC, I've owned three including the one I currently own. Suzuki is my choice for least reliable MC because it gave me the most trouble. |

If I got one, it'd be a Triumph, but riding is too dangerous for me.
It's not that I'm afraid of my abilities or wiping out, but I don't trust the other people on the road to not hit me. |

I bought a Triumph 955 Daytona new in 06 (was an 05 model). In spite of a sargent seat, I could never get tolerably comfortable on that bike and sold it with 1K on the odometer. I know it's not fair, but of the 8 bikes I've owned, it is my least favorite, losing out in every aspect (from my perspective of 'fun to ride' and 'do I want to ride it?') to even a 1982 Yamaha 650 Maxim.

Showing my age here, but for the road a Norton, and for the dirt and older Husqvarna...

I have had Kawisaki, Yamaha, and Suzuki inline 4cyl. sportbikes and sport tourers. Suzuki has always been my favorite. Now I'm riding a Suzuki sport V-twin and I love it. So my pick is Suzuki.

Triumph. If I were to ever get one, it would be something from their line.

Kawasaki. They have strong engines and are reliable.
I have owned four. |

I am kinda prejudice, I have only owned and rode on one bike. 1995 883 Sportster. Most expensive vibrator!

Massive poll fail........... Between misspelling BMW and forgetting Ducati, I can't disagree with you. Dang it, next time I'll get it in there. |

I'm not brand loyal at all, every maker seems to make some bikes I'm into, and some I'm not.
If you played the percentage game, I'd say Yamaha makes more than most. |

My first bike was a Suzuki and I've had a couple more since then.

That's kind of where I am at, but I have to say that Honda makes the least interesting bikes to me. The streetbike offerings are kinda bland, but the small displacement 2 and 4 stroke fun bikes have always interested me. My best bikes have been Yamahas and that's kind of my brand but I think I have at least one more Bimota coming to grace my life. Really hoping Yamaha gets their shit together and comes out with a competitive R1 again. It has a lot to look up to with the BMW and new ZX10R.... ETA: The way things are going I am going to be stuck with my GSXR for a while.... I just pick up an Akrapovic Ti Evo system cheap and am about to pull the trigger on a traction control setup. Hell of a lot cheaper to upgrade what I have than spend $16k on an equivalent bike. |

I have own.
Yamaha Kawasaki Suzuki Aprillia BMW (current) I like the Suzuki the best. Most balanced bike. I have also ridden on Harleys Hondas The Honda was nice, but i didn't keep it for a long time so i can't really compare it to the ones i own much. |
