seems like more and more posts are nothing but links to news most have already read.  Come on guys is that all you got?

We usually beat Drudge.

Gd is where I get my news. I don't have time sifting through all the different news sources so I just read about the important shit in gd
Link Posted: 12/13/2013 12:56:13 PM EDT
People are scared to post anything else, the Dupe Police might get them.
Link Posted: 12/13/2013 12:56:23 PM EDT
GD has always been a Drudge repost source?

Ain't got no time for breaking news.  But, I've been busy.  You know.....surfin'.

As retarded as GD sometimes becomes, this. I don't really feel like giving CNN website hits, if it's that damn important someone here will talk about it eventually.
Link Posted: 12/13/2013 12:58:15 PM EDT
Becoming?  Thread titles have been copied/pasted directly from Drudge since I've been here.
Link Posted: 12/13/2013 12:58:57 PM EDT
I like it.  I don't even have to visit drudge anymore.  Saves me some clicking around the internet.

I've noticed that for awhile.  There are a few members who seem to do it a lot.

Some have at least learned to post a snip from the article.  Nothing pissed me off more here than looking at a thread title, thinking it may be a good read, clicking, and then having a shitty looking link to have to click on.

At least we can talk politics on this boards.

On ARFCOM, you not only get the news, you get the TRUTH about the news.

Or at least the best opinions about the news.

Or something.

It's something to talk about, you know like water cooler talk.

I'm glad people take the time to visit news sources and repost links here. Makes this place one stop shopping for me.

I never go to Drudge. I've only checked it out once, when someone a long time ago asked why I post stuff from there. I had never seen it until then.

I just post news that pops up on my homepage. I have no idea if what I'm posting is on Drudge or not. But I don't see a problem with it regardless. A lot of people haven't heard about certain stories I post and likely wouldn't otherwise, with some of the more obscure ones, so I see that as a plus for a forum like this one (being so concerned with politics and gun rights).

And if it's something you've already heard about, it's simple enough to skip over it and go on to the next thread. It's not like there aren't 87 brazilian other threads to read.

I love the "news" stories that fucking Yahoo has on their site.  It's always slanted shit like

"Why Obamacare is better for you than Republicans would have you believe"
"Ten Reasons Ultraconservative like Boehner and McCain are a dying breed"
"Kim Jong Un's Uncle Attacks Gun Barrel With Head"
"Economy comes roaring back in 3rd quarter"

They have taken a sharp turn to the right over the past few years.   I never go to their site except for webmail, but they still manage to pollute my eyeballs with their leftist filth from time to time.

News is news. I see people posting relevant stories to start discussion, since many here are of like mind about things such as 2A issues and attacks on them, this being "AR15" and all.

Besides, when something is smash-head-against-wall infuriating, it's helpful to commiserate with people. That's why smoking rooms and barber shops existed.

I like reading late breaking stories here, news travels fast on GD.
Link Posted: 12/13/2013 1:41:01 PM EDT
Also? Drudge, for some insane reason, links to Infowars.

People here generally have the good sense to tell those who might not know yet to calm down about any "news" from there.

If you got shed of the usual suspects here it would decrease markedly. Spam is Spam.

What gets me is that they seldom post in their own thread. Sorta a "I'll just leave this here" poster.
