Well, actually I'm a foreign national not a US citizen yet. And I don't have a Garand.

But I'm working on both (citizenship and Garand).

Working on it. Got other things that are ahead of it on the list.

Link Posted: 8/25/2005 12:34:54 PM EDT

Link Posted: 8/25/2005 12:35:04 PM EDT
One of these days...
Link Posted: 8/25/2005 12:35:16 PM EDT
I love mine.
Link Posted: 8/25/2005 12:35:39 PM EDT
Why don't I have one? Because I have two.

How could anyone not want a battle axe like that?

Planning on a second, and a SOCOM, soon.

Got clips and ammo. Trying to find one. Anybody know were one is all USGI , can't get one from cmp no ranges they accept around here.
Link Posted: 8/25/2005 12:41:02 PM EDT
I won't buy one because it has all that brown crap all over it.

What do you call it?

Oh yeah, WOOD.

Sums it up for me as well.

I don't have one because my wife has a WWII Springfield Garand (matching, even has an uncut op rod). She got it from the DCM back in 1993 or so for about $250. But, once they are imported again I will get one for myself.
Link Posted: 8/25/2005 12:42:22 PM EDT
Got one

Link Posted: 8/25/2005 12:43:20 PM EDT
no money :(
Link Posted: 8/25/2005 12:44:09 PM EDT
It's almost sad when I think back to the days when I could have got one at a Sears or Woolworths store for about $250.... Then I put it off when I could have got them through the CMP for $300 or so... and yet I still don't have one.....

Personally, I keep buying other guns first... Hell, I still want an M1A but I don't have one of those either... Kind of sucks to have so many guns and still find more that you just got to have....
Link Posted: 8/25/2005 12:45:06 PM EDT
I'm getting one of my own this fall. I love them. I love them so much, that my new gmail account venerates the Garand.

That is not a Garand.

BTW, the only Garand to have is an actual USGI Garand, not ANY of the overpriced aftermarket ones.

After i posted this I finally figured it out.....

The reason I don't have a M1 Garrand yet is because the Democrats didn't try to tell me I can't have one....

It's the Liberals Fault

I have one from each maker of USGI Garands. My first was a SA, then I got my Winchester, then the International Harvester, and finally my Harrington & Richardson. I love them all.

Umm because I have an AR-15 (several actually) and don't want/need to take on another caliber.

If I want to shoot one I know several people with them.
Link Posted: 8/25/2005 1:02:03 PM EDT
Am getting a CMP 1903a3 Springfield.

The Garand just doesn't do anything for me. Would rather have a nice Mauser.

wganz

'Cause it's heavy, & loud, & kicks too hard. And Mommy says I'll poke my eye out w/that
bay-o-net thingy.

If/when $$$ permits I would love to have one (or 5).

All these Garand pics are giving me wood

Is this all of the USGI manufacturers?

If not, can someone name them for me. I am considering getting one, but haven't done the required countless hours of research that my warped mind makes me do before I can make any substantial purchase
