I see a lot of "*uck that" or "that is bull $hit"
Why don't you just type it out? Does profanity bother you? I mean you are clearly thinking it, clearly feeling it. It's just the interwebz, so why not type out the full bad word? I know it doesn't make sense, but I feel more comfortable around people that occasionally use profanity. It makes me feel like they are okay with themselves. And not worried about being judged. I will also say I think it is whiskey tango as fuck to be out in public and just using profanity because you think it is cool. But sometimes the situation calls for a cuss word. I guess it's kind of like people who don't drink. I feel awkward around them. Even when I did not drink. Maybe because when I did not drink, I felt like I was better than those who did drink. Obviously that is not right. I guess I am shallow. But on the other hand I do fully respect people who do not think it is right to drink or swear. But I can't figure out the point of mis typing a swear word, on the Internet. Especially on a site that thrives off of dirty grunt language. I once worked with a KCPD SGT who never used profanity. But then one day he used the F word in a casual conversation. While off duty. I suddenly looked at him as a regular human and not as a polite and proper Sgt. Now on duty and dealing with the public is different. But for once I saw him as a regular person. Do any of you feel more comfortable around people who swear from time to time? |

I've been on some boards that don't allow it, so it's habit. A f*cking habit.
|
|
Are you talking about in posts, or in thread titles? Because it's not allowed in thread titles.
|
|
I come from boards that encourage typing like a sailor. If you don't throw at least one fuck, shit, or bitch into a sentence...you'd be an outcast
So fuck it! |

I know what you mean. when I see someone type "fvck", all I can think is "You're thinking, so say it ya pussy.".

Got halfway through your post, you seemed to start rambling and I just couldn't efffing read anymore.

Well I ment posts made in replies or in OP's. Not in the title. But even then, In the short time I have been here I have seen swear words in the title. Yet they are allowed. I don't mind it. But that whole "live by the COC" isn't as legit as some make it sound. Just a few days ago I seen a post with the word "shit" in the title. I had to click on it since it had a swear word.
By the way, you are all a bunch of ****ing *ick *ucking *ussies. I'm all kinds of fucked up. What can I say. Sgt calls me a "soup sammich" Cause it doesnt get more fucked up than a soup sammich. |

There WAS a time when profanity was looked down upon as being coarse language that was not encouraged. Now we have pre-teens spouting 4 letter words like its nothing...because to them it is nothing |

'Darn' has not always been acceptable in polite company, for example. |

I never got the people who say "sugar" or "fudge" in conversation. The intent is the same-just spit it out for fuck's sake.
|

Force of habit. You can't swear on most other forums.
In all honesty, ARFCOM has the most ass-backwards moral policies of any forum I can think of. You can cuss like a sailor, post full gore death pics, and hurl thinly veiled racial slurs at the POTUS and his wife but GOD FORBID you post a pic of a woman in a bathing suit! Wouldn't want to make the site sponsors uncomfortable, I guess. |
