My knife blade is always dirty and I never have clippers. More convienent to just bite them off.

Its a nervous habit. Some people get under alot of stress and decide to eat themselves.

Tough habit to break. They are always there. You can't not buy them or leave them at home!

I bite them off to trim them. I don't like long nails. Since I was in orginized Judo and then wrestling as a youth, I have allways kept mine trimed. Teeth are natures trimers.

I see people chewing their fingers at the gym. I am not a germaphobe, but thats nasty.

How easily people misunderstand the most simple things in life. Does anybody in their right mind actually think a grown-up likes having gnarled-up, painful nubs at the end of their fingers? Do you know how embarrassing that is? Do you think finger nail biters wouldn't "just quit" if it were that easy???

Gotta be a nervous habit. I have a friend who eats his down to his elbows. Well almost at least.
He owns a construction company and is one nervi sumbiatch. Can't sit still for nothing. I think its his business practices getting the best of his concious

i work in a criminal defense law firm.
the chicks that are bad tweakers (speed/coke heads) chew 'em all off. made me quit nibbling on mine and get a good Dovo manicure set.

That is close to ther question I was going to ask. I don't care if people chew their fingers, but why do so many people eat their boogers? My job is to watch people all day long, without knowing they are being watched. I've seen people poke, scratch, sniff, etc..... every part of their body. But I've never understood why people eat their boogers

I did it for 18 years, until I was in Marine boot camp.
We were getting the nightly health and comfort inspection and my Senior Drill Instructor asked if I chewed my fingernails. I told him I did, and he told me to stop. I did. I wish he had told me to quit picking my nose and not to start smoking again. |
