I never do graphic buttons until I have lived with the interface for a few days. Text links with generic icons to their left in a table should be fine for everyone until the opinion dust settles.
I actually like the OD. I am finding that I am very used to the old button placement and it takes me a sec to find the new link. Never underestimate a user's muscular memory when you change a user interface. I think a lot of these guys still are in 800x600 and we are looking at the world through 1024x768. I have not looked at the UI design in 800x600 since you changed it over but I bet it is a factor in some of the neg. comments. |

I have a microscopic clue about coding a board like this - I’ve set up a couple of UBB based boards using MySQL backends.
---------------------- All I have to say is, I’m damned impressed with this board. It’s fast and stable and not finicky about platform. (I’ve used OPERA, IE, NUTSCRAPE, and Lynx) … It’s better than anything else I’ve seen. Keep up the good work man – Some of us appreciate you. Side note: What is this thing running on? (Hardware, OS, DB) |

He coded this site from scratch and it is one of the best message forum apps that I have ever seen ! (alot of my clients host UBB and other message forum sites with us. I looked at my SQL too, but only to see if the rash had cleared up. I don't know what the hell you guys are talking about, but if you want to appreciate this board, go to any other one. Biggerhammer.net comes to mind. It's kind of like America. Go anywhere else in the world, then come home and kiss the ground. Yeah, I guess I'm a suckup, so what--I appreciate what we have here, and make no bones about it. GB, if you like shitty green or titty pink, I don't care. No complaints.

GoatBoy.... I finally played with it on my iPAQ last night ....
The site does not scale at all on it .. so it makes it terrible to work with ... No I am not griping just letting you know... If you ever had a chance to see .... you would know what I mean ... Paypal scales but the font scales and almost disappears.... Subguns.com scales and keeps the font .. but then again it is just a text based board... Yahoo allows frames to be selected whish helps .. but it still does not realyl scale ... so it is not just here.... Thanks for what you do do ... and if I ever get to where I am ahead I will sign up for the elite actual paying member... Ted... |

The changes are about 80% complete graphics wise, so then its just a bit of changing a few other items and code. I'll try to post a sample tonight for feedback.
As for emails, I apologize to everyone because I just haven't had time to get through them all. Every day I go through roughly 100 emails and fall behind another 25-50. So I'm fighting just to get back to the older emails!!! |
