Glock makes a fine handgun IMHO, and I own a few of them. But i've always wondered why Glock hasn't attempted to test the carbine/rifle waters with any seriousness. I was talking to a Glock rep at a Sheriffs Association Trade Show last Fall and I inquired this same question. He told me Glock was trying to develop a Glock Action Semi-Auto Shotgun and to this day there's been no news of it that i've heard. Of course this guy could have been selling beef jerky at a gunshow the weekend before I spoke to him at this trade show.

Is anything in the works? If not, why not? I know Glock's success in the handgun world is obvious but why not try the Carbine market? Beretta did it with the Storm.

A collapsable stock of some type with an extended slide, 14.5 to 16 inch barrel and a flash suppressor.
Could it even work with the Glock design. I'm talking handgun calibers which Glock already makes using mags they are now free to design and produce. Now would be the time to get the fucker on the market.

What gives?

They make a kit, not glock though,it converts your pistol.

Police departments have invested too much in HK rifles.

Who would care if they did?

Because they make pistols.

The question wasn't "How did I get such a high post count?"

Just curious?

First take a impulse barrel www.brayleyballistics.com/acc_glock_impulse_barrels.html next snap on a glock telestock www.gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=23471671 then use this mount to add on a red dot sight & tactical light www.gunbroker.com/auction/viewitem.asp?item=23532987 and now you have a glock carbine

Probably because they have their niche and they feel that they can't offer a competitive alternative to what's already out there.

Damn glock haters with their chrome plated sissy pistols

A bigger Glock would make a much bigger KABOOM, that's why!

They might blow up closer to your face.

Probably because there hasn't been a demand to satisfy. Gaston Glock is all about da Benjamin's baby!!!

Hk pretty much has the LE / .mil market sewed up on the pistol caliber carbines.

...because they couldn't charge $1000 for it and still require $1000 in parts and customizing to make it reliable and user friendly.
