Why is it that every time I do distance running in an indoor gym I have a massive allergy attack about 2 hours later?

Because gyms are funky?

It's just an indoor track. Very dry inside though.

I took my usual daily Zyrtec. Alavert didn't work prior to that in other running sessions. I don't want to take Benadryl before I go because I'll be very tired and my performance will suffer.

Cats. Don't know what else sets me off but it's something. Pretty sure it's not pollen.

Probably because of the mold and fungus in the air inside your gym.

You should bring it to their attention that your having a reaction to air in side the room.

every had the allergy test with the 23 different samples??? It's a rite of passage here in the land of the cedar pollen season. The pollen is so thicj, it coasts the trees like dust on a gravel road....

Do you know when they clean? The chemicals they use are very harsh. Use a saline nasal flush. I have used mine with very good results. It's a pain having allergies. Good luck.

That's actually a good idea- wash your fash, and learn to rinse out your nose / sinuses... there a special pot made for it ....
My ear/nose/throat guy said salt or tap water (warm) and sniff it out of your hand- drain/blow as needed. First couple times maybe rough- it's water up your nose- but your body adapts quickly.

You are probably dislodging crap that already accumulated in your nasal passages and sinuses and it is getting in your system.

Anti-histamines are your friend. You may also want to consider some of those sinus cleaning products.

The HVAC system of the gym may be pulling pollen from nearby sources that fooks you up.

Maybe you are allergic to some product you are useing at the gym?
